POSTS STORIES REELS

I’ve photographed humanity in some of the hardest places on earth and for some, during the hardest moments of their life: after earthquakes, during war, in villages and classrooms and rubble.

The images I treasure most aren’t about the moment I captured. They’re about the people who were there. The ones who stayed, served, listened, and made someone feel seen.

Legacy isn’t just something we leave at the end. We build it quietly, in every ordinary day. It’s in the phone call you didn’t have to make, the patience you gave when you had none left, the way you made a stranger feel like they mattered. Most of it happens when no one is watching. And most of it outlives us in ways we’ll never get to see.

Hi, I’m Emily.
I’m a photographer in two very distinct worlds.

I not only photograph stunning weddings here in Hawai‘i but also the incredible work of humanitarian organizations all around the world—which is usually the part where people pause and say, “That’s… quite a mix.” It is. And it works. It keeps me incredibly balanced.

One world is refined, celebratory, and meticulously planned. The other takes me around the globe and into some of the most remote places on earth.

Both require the same things from me: show up, pay attention, and handle stories with care. I treat each one as something entrusted, not something to rush or manufacture.

Weddings have taught me to notice joy while it’s happening—the fleeting, meaningful moments that pass quickly but matter long after the day ends.

Humanitarian work has grounded me. I’ve seen God at work far from the spotlight, in places most people will never go, through quiet resilience and incredible faith.

Together, these worlds balance each other beautifully. One sharpens my eye. The other softens my heart.

This life usually means packing gowns and timelines one week, boots and bug spray the next—usually with a wildly long flight in between.

It’s a beautiful calling that I am beyond grateful for.

If you’re new here, welcome.
And MAHALO for following along.

if you’ve been with me from the start, thanks for hanging in there. 🤍

With love & gratitude, Emily by @emilyturner

There was something sacred about the stillness that morning.

Leandra & Danny invited their loved ones to wake before dawn, sail across the bay, and stand barefoot in the middle of the ocean as they promised forever.

It wasn’t just beautiful — it was intentional, intimate, and unforgettable.

Blink, and it’s December 23rd.

Sunday was my first Christmas mini of the season, and the light was perfect. The salt in the air gave the trees a beautiful glow, the closest thing to winter Hawaii gets. I loved so many frames that my clients ended up with double what I promised.

Once November hits, the season moves fast. Book now while it still feels easy, and your gallery will be in your inbox within 24 hours, just in time for Christmas cards.

I casually posted about how I had 3 inquiry calls the other day, and the same question kept landing in my DMs. The answer wasn’t more inquiries. It was what I did with them.

Moments before the walk.

Makeup done, dress on, earrings in, nothing left to do but wait. This is the part no one rehearses — but is my absolute favorite time to take a deep breathe and sneak a handful of bridal portraits.
