It’s this cutie’s birthday today!! I was blessed with the absolute best mom in the whole world, and today is her day. Mom, you inspire me every single day, and beyond that, you have and continue to inspire so many other people and children. You’re the best teacher, both inside and outside of the classroom, and you genuinely care so much about all that you do. You’re truly amazing. Thank you for staying on the phone with me while I was home alone with Mav, while the tornado was overhead. Thank you for always being there for me and supporting me. So, the ruse was a family photo session at the beach. Originally, the text said that all the girls would wear white…then when we got up there Lexi told me that her and Livi were actually going to wear blue for different reasons. I felt a little weird being the only one in white, but it’s all I brought with me…so we went with it. Then, the rain refused to let up all weekend. We were all watching the weather app and the radars like professional meteorologists. I was invested because Manny (who notoriously does not love pictures) was still on board to do it- which I chalked up to him doing for his mom, because Amy has been talking about wanting to do family photos for a while now. We all noticed a small window when the rain would let up just a little bit, and hopefully long enough to take said pictures. So, even though the photographer cancelled, we all got ready and walked down, determined to do them ourselves. When we got to the beach, Manny asked me to help him find stones to skip, and when I turned around with one to give him, I found him waiting down on one knee. I will always be so thankful that OUR FAMILY took these stunning photos (and videos) for us, so we always will have these moments to cherish. I am so thankful, I feel so blessed and so loved. I am just sitting our little bubble of happiness and love, and I never want to leave.

This isn’t a post asking people to tell me how much weight I’ve lost. It’s about how freaking surreal body dysmorphia can be.

I’ve lost 140 pounds, but there are still days when I look in the mirror and don’t see what everyone else seems to see. I still see the version of myself that existed before this journey—the only version of myself I’d ever known. My brain hasn’t quite caught up yet.

What’s wild is that I’ve officially beaten obesity. For the first time in my life—probably since grade school—I’m no longer medically considered obese.

I don’t say that because I think a BMI defines my worth. I want to be very clear that it doesn’t. But this is a milestone I worked unbelievably hard for, dreamed about for so long, and I’m incredibly proud of it.

Typing that out doesn’t even feel real.

I will never see that word on my medical paperwork again.

I say that as a promise to myself and to everyone who has supported me and invested in this journey.

48 pounds to my goal.

Today I’m feeling incredibly emotional, unbelievably proud, and beyond grateful. 🫶🏼
