Something I wrote a while back for Substack about grief, loving, and moving on....
It was a simple thought I had in the middle of the day. If the trauma is a boulder on my life path, and the trauma already ended, that means the boulder is already... behind me? My dad always used to say "the worst is over" and I thought , but this is where the grief enters, isn't that the hardest part? But as I've heard someone say once, "The only reason we ever miss anything is because we have a belief it is still meant to be in our lives". Take that out, stop looking back, and you will see all the wonders this world has prepared for you..✨

🪶 | "Eulogy" - poem and design by me

There was this unsettling need to dedicate all of my love to someone, someone dear and special, when I wrote Eulogy. All of my life I've had this undying need to have a romantic partner, a person I could dedicate my whole existence too. Something I turned out to be great at, actually. However, as soon as I didn't have a person to dedicate that love to, I found myself entangled in strings that tied me to a very hollow pit in my heart. Turns out, I don't really know how to dedicate love to myself, and that leaves a vile hunger in a search for someone else, with a crippling emptiness where my love for me should be. Something to work on, I guess, and Eulogy is part of that process...💌

🪶 | "Blue" by Emj Starling

This is, to this day, one of my dearest poems even though I wrote it back in 2025. Blue has been my favorite color for over a decade now, but it was for me, always more than that. It was a feeling, quietly lingering in my skin and bones, whenever I thought of this color; recalling a memory that simply isn't there, and a vivid scene of peace found in drowning. One late night I found myself finally spilling those feelings onto paper, leaving me with this poem. Givran's composition "Idea 22" was also a big part of the inspiration behind it <3

This is my original piece that I recently composed for my entrance exam a University I hope to get accepted in, and I wanted to share it with more people💌 It's called "Somber Sea" ("Tmurno more" in the original) and is the first piece I've written in this style so I am very proud of it!
