A glimpse into life at Studio Orta @studioortalesmoulins
The spaces we share, the work we make, and the conversations around the table.

Our studio is part of Les Moulins, a former industrial site where art and everyday life meet. The visit also took us through @galleriacontinua Les Moulins group exhibition “Les 20 ans du Moulin” and into the sculpture garden, home to the gallery’s and our family long-term projects.

Thank you to @destandaardmagazine and @ringogomezjorge for this thoughtful portrait of our family, our studios, and the places around us.

Last weekend to see ‘Whims of Panspermia’ at DIMIN @dimin.nyc in collaboration with Brigitte Mulholland @brigittemulhollandparis

The last time I was in New York, I was a student there. Returning now with a solo show feels both surreal and deeply meaningful.

WHIMS OF PANSPERMIA

It is an inquiry into what it means to grow, to harden, and to remain « entangled » in a world that never truly concludes. What persists is not identity, but tendency: a soft inclination of matter to gather, to repeat, to vary. A kind of whimsical panspermia, where forms are neither fully rooted nor entirely transient, but held in a state of gentle dispersion.

´For Want of a Nail, the Golden Shoe Was Lost’ evokes the world of folk tales in an exhibition dedicated to ceramics. Through new symbolist languages and the imagination of magical realism, the works are permeated by the ambiguity of a mystified world and its unsettling drifts. They function like relics of the memory of our childhood tales, while at the same time slipping into troubling territories that subvert the familiarity of these stories.
