Been reflecting on the kind of career I’ve been striving for and just how long the journey has been. Fifteen years in, I would still choose this path every single time because it has led me to some of the most human and joyous experiences I could have imagined.

Not many careers can give you what a life in weddings can, both in the loud moments and the quiet ones.

Beyond telling stories through art, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the rich, complex nature of people. I’ve seen families welcome new chapters, lifelong friendships show up without hesitation, strangers become family, and love expressed in a hundred different ways.

This career has also introduced me to an incredible community. Some of the people I admire most, both creatively and personally, are people I never would have met if I hadn’t picked up a camera. Every trip, every wedding, every collaboration has reminded me that this work is about connection. Especially now.

These photos were made in New York during my last trip, a place that continues to inspire me, alongside people who inspire me just as much.

I’ve worked at this beautiful venue countless times and each time I commit to making art there in a new way that can speak to the story of each couple - this time I took the time to go there the day before to really scope out new corners and decided this spot would do quite nicely.

& with zero planning or directing on the day, Alex ended up here but we were ready to create thanks to our preparation. 2 minutes and that was it.

It is the kind of extra effort and care I put into each couple because it’s never lost on me that it’s also the day you and those you love may have been waiting for for a long time.

It means a lot to you and so it means a lot to me. It’s never just business to me. I’m in this for the people first.

Working with the right team certainly makes it easier to focus on doing what we do best - so thank you @ericairwinweddings as always for your commitment to bringing the best experience for our couples and the teams you create.

Ronda is one of Spain’s oldest and most visually dramatic towns. Perched on a massive plateau, it is famous for a deep canyon that splits the town in two.

We visited a few years ago during our Andalusian road trip around the south of Spain and I’ve been dreaming of Spain ever since. taken in Ronda, Spain by @emma.haidar

Alexandra + Alex’s day was the kind of day that has you smiling so much that your cheeks hurt. It was truly an honour to document and tell this story. Their day was filled with friends and family who flew in from across the country and around the world to witness something really special — a love full of joy that stays with you. Anyone who meets the Alexes can attest.

We started at Notre Dame Basilica with a ceremony officiated by the Cardinal, celebrated at the Fairmont Château Laurier, were surprised by a toast from a former Prime Minister, and then there was the fashion which honestly deserves a standing ovation all on its own.

A stolen kiss in a photobooth

From the Notre Dame Basilica, we made our way to the Fairmont Château Laurier. If you know the Alexes, you know this was always going to be where they celebrated!

a tender moment of seeing a real life bride

when we were out doing portraits after the ceremony, Alexandra mentioned she would love a DC… and her wish was granted when Erica’s team ducked back into the hotel and brought it out to the park for her! Loved this moment just before they went up to freshen and change for the cocktail hour!

Notre Dame Basilica has a way of making everything feel eternal. The Cardinal officiated their ceremony and and the warmth and reverence in that room was something really rare and really beautiful.

Alexandra’s fashion for her day deserves its own moment. A mix of iconic and classic

Just minutes before we came down, Alexandra and her friends were playing and singing to the classic “going to the chapel” …. strolling in Peacock alley, off to get them married!

Erica brought this day together with so much grace. Every detail and element was curated and coordinated - tailored to literal perfection!

Had the best time with Alexandra & Alex when we braved the Ottawa spring for some photos of this beautiful chapter of theirs.

There is so much ease between them, the way they look at one another and the beautiful energy they bring into every room they enter!

Ibrahim & Jaudat, Toronto.

A question I hear often at weddings is, “How long have you known the couple?” Guests usually assume we’re friends.

Most of the time, I meet my couples through this work. We start as strangers and, over months of planning, shared excitement, and meaningful conversations, I’m invited into one of the most important days of their lives.

Every so often, though, I have the privilege of photographing a wedding where there is already a history. A familiar face, shared memories, a relationship that existed before the wedding day and it always adds another layer of meaning to the experience and serves as a reminder of how deeply personal this work can be.

Photographing Ibrahim and Jaudat was one of those rare and special occasions.

A quiet pause - speaking of portfolios, this portrait was a favourite from the moment I clicked my shutter. It remains a favourite to this day.

From the winter light spill to the way her gown draped, and the intricate detailing and beadwork made the dress a work of art on its own. by @emma.haidar

I love re-discovering galleries when I am doing my yearly portfolio review. This day with Andrea and Luke was expertly designed and directed by @toast.events and one of the best places in the city.

They celebrated with an intimate wedding at the @fairmontlaurier - and it was perfect in every way.

Friends and family were united for this beautiful day - swapping stories and some meeting for the first time. There were heartfelt speeches and my particular favourite was hearing about the family heirloom - a sword that had been passed down many generations. They used it to cut their cake!

Even for an intimate event, there were plenty of high touch details like the table layout in the Quebec suite that was laden with candles and florals. The pièce de résistance was the hand sewn bows on every crystal candelabra. (Can you guess who hand sewed them all?) Guests were able to take home bouquets they made in custom holders and crystal bowls were full of delicious macarons. taken in Fairmont Château Laurier by @emma.haidar

Elliana, february 2026.

picked up this little film camera in Cannes at a brocante and photographed on expired film - goes to show that sometimes your favourite work will come from the most unexpected tools.

it’s something I’ve said over and over and I learned it in my first photography class ever - the best camera is the one you have with you.

jessica + shaddy. ottawa, ontario. may 2026.

it started with the kind of morning that reminds you what this is all really about - love in every corner, generations in every room, a table that’s never not full.

by the time they met at the altar of st. elias, the whole room already knew this was going to be a night to remember.

the ceremony was sacred and still. the portraits were golden and then the reception doors opened, and it was nothing short of electric - speeches that wrecked everyone in the best possible way, and a dance floor that never once emptied.

jessica and shaddy - thank you for letting us be right in the middle of all of it. this one was everything. Mabrouk!
