dear volleyball,

where do i even start? for the past 8 years you have been my therapy, my second home, and my safe place. through every exhausting practice, tough game, and tears of sadness and joy you have been my passion ever since i was 10 years old. the feeling of stepping on to the court and being able to do what i love was a feeling that i will never forget. no matter how hard things got or how much i complained and said i wanted to quit i know that my love for this sport was truly to deep to even imagine my life without it. this sport has not only taught me how to be a leader and so much about life but it has also help me find some of my best friends, i’ve been to so many new places and met so many amazing people along the way because of this sport. with all that being said i want to take the time to recognize some of the people that made this journey possible. to my parents who made so many sacrifices over the years and always supported me no matter what, i am so grateful to always know i have to you both by my side. to my grandparents who watched every game they could every text after a match i got was just another reason to keep pushing myself, to my siblings who i could always hear cheering me on from the stands and kept me going no matter what. i also want to thank every coach throughout the years, for your guidance and support that helped further my love for the sport. i also want to thank all of my teammates over the years you all were some of the most talented, amazing people i have ever met. being able to play with each one of you was truly a privilege. the bonds that i have created because of volleyball is simply a blessing on its own. lastly i want to thank god for all the opportunities he has given me and everything he has provided me with. i feel so incredibly lucky to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard. although i don’t know what is in store for my career, i feel so grateful to have been able to go through everything i have over these last 8 years. #6 signing out by @emma.hildwine
