𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘚𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘴 (shortened)

Life with a twin is easy,
with matching suits everyday.

Until we are on our own,
with suits that don't fit.

But as time passes,
we become more ourselves.
The suit is altered;
through distance, through grief, through love.

And somehow a new friend appears,
someone who did not ask me to shrink,
or mirror, or fill the shoes.

Someone who's suit didn't fit right either,
requiring growth and wear.

This is the quiet understanding
that someone will help carry you
when your suit becomes too heavy for itself.

And for the first time,
wearing my own suit
does not feel lonely. by @emma.june

Sketchbook: 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘚𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘴 is now available!

This booklet gathers a selection of recent drawings alongside a poem, 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘚𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘴. It reflects on growing up as a twin, learning who I am outside of someone else’s reflection, and discovering the relationships that shape us into ourselves.

This booklet holds memories of childhood, relationships, and the small moments that I aim to find connection with. This is the place my paintings begin.

Available for $20 through the link in my bio or dm :) by @emma.june
