Pain Is Beauty

Hello, I’ve succumbed
I’ve swallowed the rule
If beauty means pain, then pain makes me cool.
So stab in the filler, let my poor lips swell,
Perhaps then I’ll shine and perhaps I’ll act well.
Because first comes the face, before talent or art,
And sadly, I haven’t got boobs to take part.
So plump up my lips, make them luscious and bright,
If suffering’s beauty, then darling, I’m right.
« Mum, don’t be dramatic, you said pain is beauty! »
I’ve followed your teachings with dutiful duty.
Now look at my lips! Surely, now I can shine My talent was there... it was simply behind.
So inject me with glamour, let vanity sing,
A beautiful mouth might finally bring
The roles and the fame and the life I pursue Because apparently talent needs lip filler too.

Am I Pretty Now?

Am I pretty for you now, baby?
Sexy enough to make you stay?
Did these swollen lips finally
chase your wandering eyes my way?
I’m still the girl who writes of roses,
of doomed hearts, moonlight, and rain
but now my face resembles
the girls you dream of in your brain.
So tell me, darling…
is this desire?
Or did I only
make myself look like
what you require?

‘Literary Romance’ shoot for @scorpiojinmagazine 💕

I got those boots for £2!
The bag is @mulberryengland gifted from my grandma on my dads side & the scarf is by Hardy Amies from my grandma on my mums side - it’s amazing to get to incorporate vintage family pieces in my work ✨

‘Literary Romance’ shoot for @scorpiojinmagazine 🩵

The jumper in this is actually one of my favourite pieces of knitwear, if you look closely it has patterns with knights, princesses & unicorns, so unique!
