Out next week, 11 June, and available to pre-order now! by @emma_lee_moss

I’m very excited to share the cover of my book…Thank you to @manshenlo for your beautiful artwork, I feel so incredibly lucky. And thank you to the wonderful team at @jonathancapebooks! My Cantopop Nights is out June 11th! 🧡✨ by @emma_lee_moss

Wordplay today was so fun💕 It’s been a year since @serafinasteer , @arjimanuelpillai and I got together to play a set of original songs for early years at WordPlay at the Southbank. We thought we’d do it for three months, and that a handful of families would give us their Friday mornings. This morning, we welcomed an amazing audience of 700 - children and their grown ups - to our two WordPlay sessions!

And now we have an album! 'The Earlybirds Vol. 1 - Songs and Poems for Ages 0-5' is out next month on the Yoto platform.

Thank you to the wonderful audiences who have come to see us over the past year, sung and danced with us, and encouraged us to record the songs. I can’t tell you how much we love spending this time with you!

We are doing an album launch WordPlay on 13 November in the usual place. Do watch this space for more news on the album, and you can follow us on our new Instagram account @earlybirdsfun.

Big thank you to the team at @southbankcentre who commissioned us and put everything into making these shows happen, and all the amazing artists and specialists who joined us in the process of developing this show!

I’m playing an instore at @days_booksnrecords in Forest Row this Saturday! I’ll be celebrating Mid-Autumn festival with some readings and songs from My Cantopop Nights.

My Cantopop Nights is definitely a book about Hong Kong but it's also a little bit about growing up in East Grinstead, and there's a chapter set in Forest Row. And I can't believe that in twenty-three years of gigs, the closest I've made it to EG is Brighton! So this is v poignant!

Days Books and Records is an amazing independent shop, and I really cannot wait to play a good old-fashioned instore 🧡 by @emma_lee_moss

WordPlay is back for a new season at @southbankcentre on selected Fridays. We’re so excited to sing and dance with you for another year 🫶 by @emma_lee_moss

So excited to be at @esealitfest tomorrow! I’m running a workshop on Memoir as Return, exploring how tools inspired by Deep Listening can help you connect with memory, place and identity.

The workshop is at @foylesforbooks in London Charing Cross from 10-11. I’ll be signing copies of My Cantopop Nights afterwards. 🧡 by @emma_lee_moss

A belated post about my two days at @edbookfest. Thank you everyone who came to the book event for My Cantopop Nights, and the Sounding Home workshop the next day🧡

Being in conversation with @katie_goh_ was so natural, and along with the thoughtful audience it left me feeling warm and happy. Later that night I did another VERY warm event at the Sauna Theatre, where I was moved to be playing alongside scentmaster who wafted aromas at the audience with such care and elegance.

Then the participants of the workshop expanded my world with their interpretations of home.

It was such a lovely two days, followed by the craziest train journey of my life, where I attempted to take five successive cancelled or delayed trains, had to get off at Newcastle near midnight, and finally made it home fifteen hours after I was supposed to board my first train. Thankful for my beautiful pal in Newcastle who took me in with no notice, and the bonus time I got with her. And for time with old friends in Edinburgh. And for books. 📚 by @emma_lee_moss

On Meet the Writers, musician and author @emma_lee_moss, formerly known as Emmy the Great, talks about leaving Hong Kong for England at 12 and reconnecting with the music that shaped her.

Her first book, My Cantopop Nights: A Memoir in Songs, explores the pull between Cantopop and indie, Hong Kong and Britain, against the backdrop of the city’s post-colonial tensions and protests.

Published by @jonathancapebooks and out now. Listen wherever you get your podcasts.

Tonight on Patreon I am sharing the final Emmy the Great show that took place in April 2023. It’s taken me this long to sort the footage out and it’s still not perfect but it’s all in one place. Thank you to Chi Ho and my brother Robin for helping me with that!

The video will be shared from 730pm UK time tonight (Tuesday 11 August). There will be a chat for those who would like to watch together tonight (I will be there for that), then the show is available on demand for three months afterwards. I love Patreon it’s lots of fun.

If you’re not already a member of my Patreon you can join (link in bio). This would be part of the Orange Blossoms offerings. I know that sounds cryptic but it becomes clear once you’re on the page!

See you tonight! I hope I get the live chat function going smoothly, it’s my first time. I hope to share more gig footage in the future. 🧡 by @emma_lee_moss
