I think a lot of us grew up believing that being busy meant being successful, and being productive meant being valuable.

The past few weeks have been especially full, with a lot of moving parts, deadlines, travel, businesses and projects all happening at once. And when you’re someone who can hyperfocus and get a lot done, it’s easy to keep pushing and call it discipline.

But wellness has taught me that rest counts too.

Stepping away isn’t laziness. Slowing down isn’t falling behind. And your worth isn’t measured by how productive you were that day.

Focus is powerful. So is rest.
