Being Ian Fletcher’s wife has been one heck of a good time, and it is also one of the greatest demonstrations of God’s undeserved love and kindness toward me. It is both slightly embarrassing and incredibly tender, but there is so much glory for the Lord to receive from our story that I can’t help but share.

I’ve admired Ian for a long time, much longer than I’ve called him boyfriend, fiance, or husband (stay humble out there ladies, but also don’t lose hope!). In the midst of wondering how he felt about me, and a little self pity for my unreciprocated interest, the Lord was quietly working in the way only He can- patiently, intentionally, and in His perfect timing. Despite my doubt, self preservation, and impatience, according to His nature our God had a gift for me that wasn’t based on anything I’d done or deserved and a plan that was so so much better than the one I would’ve written.

And then we fell in love. It was fast, illogical, and perfectly clear that God had intended Ian to be my husband all along. He gave “manna from Heaven”, “wet fleece” (Judges 6) experiences that convinced our feeble, human hearts that He was inviting us into a beautiful and rich marriage only He could’ve orchestrated! In those weeks, I felt the Spirit speaking to me that He is trustworthy, that He delights in giving His children good gifts, and that His love truly is the greatest thing we will ever know!
