𝘖𝘧 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘴𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘔𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯, featuring the works of artist, Geovanni Barrios, and special guests, Emma Cuba (@emmacubz) and Awuor Onguru (@daluikkot), is a collaboration between The Rally Hotel × The Residency at Flora.

Please join us on for an evening of film, music, poetry, and art making on October 30th at 6pm at the Rally Hotel.

For artist Geovanni Barrios, the distance between Miami and Denver is more than geographic. The expanse of the Everglades’ sawgrass marshes and the boundaries presented by Colorado’s mountains have shaped how he understands his place within nature and the freedoms we enjoy in the United States.

At The Rally, Barrios will bring these landscapes into conversation through an immersive evening of film, music, poetry, and collective collaging with the support of guest artists, Emma Cuba and Awuor Onguru. Throughout the evening, guests will be invited to cut and contribute colorful paper forms inspired by the places that have shaped them. Barrios will later assemble these individual fragments into a new collective collage, transforming many interpretations of landscape and belonging into a shared work of art.

Part performance, workshop and meditation on place, 𝘖𝘧 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘴𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘔𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯 considers how the outdoors helps us understand where we come from and where we feel most free. taken in The Rally Hotel by @emmacubz

“It’s beautiful but it does mean summer will end soon”
I say dang or something and kick a rock, time passes quickly down here on earth. The days were so long. Once. This is one night out of our five backpacking days. Here we could reach for a sliver of a moon, because up north if you tip toe you can nearly touch it! I promise.

I went on another walk through the same streets I’ve walked thousands of times, honestly it can feel boring as someone who is always seeking adventure, but then I thought maybe I’m not really looking, not really seeing. So I looked up.
