“Not only are we drawn to beauty, we are the only creatures who engage in certain behaviors purely for the sake of encountering beauty. We use vacation days to drive to places where we can see the sun come up over the ocean. We visit art museums, theaters, and symphonies. We look at the moon and the stars. We climb to high mountain lakes to put our feet in the frigid water to feel the rush and see the reflection of the summit in the ripples we have made. No other creature stops to behold something beautiful for no other reason than that it has stirred something in their souls. When we do these things, are we not like Moses and David, hungering to see the glory of God?” (Rembrandt is in the Wind, @russramsey1 )

My dear friend @emma.g.eidson took this sweet video while we were at Portland Head Light this past week & it was just too good not to post. It reminds me of the simple JOY found in enjoying nature, laughter, & friendship. To gaze upon the beauty of creation is to catch a glimpse of glory. What a mighty Creator we serve! by @emmalie.e

It’d be nearly impossible to fully capture just how important the last 6 years I spent atop University Hill have been, so I’ll do my best to keep it short & sweet:

Dallas Baptist University, thank you. Thank you for the friendships forged, the memories made, and the knowledge gained. My time at DBU quickly taught me that learning is about far more than the amount of information you consume, but the degree to which that information permeates your life and is applied to your tool-belt of knowledge. This is true, transformative, integrative learning… and I’m so much better because of the countless professors, peers, friends, and colleagues who have cared enough to pour into me. Soli Deo gloria - to God be the glory. 💌
