the only thing better than going on a mission trip is taking 30 students with you to do it! what a privilege to do life with these students!!

I left the Dominica Republic with a greater sense that God hears and answers our prayers. From visions of green jackets, to every student witnessing someone accept Christ, to me not being anxious for the first time at a big youth event- He really does care about everything. In both the bold and deeply personal requests, we can pray with confidence knowing He says, “ask and you shall receive.”

this week wasn’t just playing with kids (though they shared the gospel faithfully with them too!!). I watched God change these students lives just as much as He was changing the people we shared the gospel with. this week was about real hope, real joy, and real life transformation- ask me about it!

“I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.” Psalm‬ ‭40‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ taken in Dominican Republic by @emmamiars

God is real and He is worth following!

The best part of my job is that I just get to be a witness to what God is doing. A room full of people worshiping in the presence of a real and living God. Darkness is pushed back and replaced with a hunger for more of Him.

It’s not a feeling or camp high. But a real desire to know God more and be rooted in Him. These are the students that are going to change this world!!

If I can promise you one thing it’s this: following Jesus is better than anything this world thinks it can offer you. There is an invitation to walk in true life, freedom, and joy.

“to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.”

Spring was filled with celebrations, presentations, and transitions! Last month I graduated from Residency and today is my first day on full time staff at Harris Creek!

It’s a dream come true to serve in the same youth ministry that taught me take ownership of my faith. This generation is going to change the world and I get a front row seat to watch it happen!

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ taken in Waco, Texas by @emmamiars
