Glory be to God..Performing at the #AMVCA2022 last night was surreal for me. .I waltzed across that stage, with the whole of my heart, and I enjoyed every moment of it. But what I loved the most was the fact that I did a ballet contemporary routine on an AMVCA stage, in Nigeria. Preparing MASHIRIKA for the 12th edition of the Ubumuntu Arts Festival 2026. The choreography UMUGANDA: Green Circle is a collaborative creation between Nigeria, Rwanda and Congo, and will debut as the Opening Performance of the Ubumuntu Arts Festival Night of Classics.I gained inspiration for this piece from the Rwandan concept of “UMUGANDA” which means collective community cleaning. I used this habitual culture as a metaphor for humanity’s ability to come together to rebuild and clean not just communities but ourselves. So yeah..see you tomorrow evening at the Kigali Genocide Memorial Amphitheatre. Let’s celebrate humanity’s ability rebuild. If there is one thing we know about children, it is that they can dream. Over the weekend, Slum to Stage Africa @slumtostage gathered over 60 students from government schools across Abuja for the preliminary round of the “IntroTech” Competition, where their dreams became a glowing reality.Over a month ago, these children put in the work to explore innovative ideas to produce technology solutions to real world problems. Problems that felt close to home for them. The IntroTech Competition was born from a simple belief that Slum to Stage Africa is not raising dancers alone, but we are raising future leaders, innovators, creators, teachers and problem-solvers. If you know us, you know that we are creating a future where every child has access to creative, artistic and now DIGITAL learning experiences that nurture both academic excellence and holistic human development. With the combined partnership of @slum_tech @franceinnigeria @shushiofficial @ifnigeria @asviolng @destinedstars_initiative @elaminschoolabj , Universal Basic Education Board and Strategic Minds Humanitarian Foundation, this vision for our digital and IT program was possible.The journey to the Grand Finale Begins💙🎉. In my journey of working with children, I’ve learnt that some of the most important things a child learns cannot be measured by an exam. Self esteem, creativity, Perseverance. Education should nurture all these skills. It’s #internationaldayoftheafricanchild I want us to reflect on the education sector in Africa, and remind ourselves that every child deserves an education that nurtures not only academic success, but also life success. by @emmanuelosahor
