Samuel Ayres Prokes was born naturally at 16 weeks and 4 days June 14th at 6:10am. And went to heaven 53 minutes later. Named after his mom whose life he saved. 💙

Saturday I woke up not feeling good brushing it off as typical pregnancy symptoms. When Tyler got home at 10pm I began having increasingly cramping and thought we should go in just for me to get fluids. After a few tests it was determined I had a bad infection.
Around 2am we were transferred to OB. Baby was looking healthy and happy, but my body was declining fast, and we could have easily both met Jesus. It’s something no parent should have to go through. Thankfully God is still preforming miracles and surprised everyone and Samuel was delivered all naturally and alive for 53 minutes and saved my life. He got to hear his parents heartbeats, hear the word of God, pray with him, and sing to him. He was baptised surrounded by family and had a birthday party with all of our friends and family. He not only saved my life and saved the life of all his future siblings. He is our forever hero💙

If anyone is looking for a way to help us during this time we have set up a meal train and would like all donations to go to Children’s Miracle Network. A funeral will be held Friday June 19th at 11:00am at French Island Cemetery all are welcome. We ask to wear blue 💙

Today is Pregnancy loss Awareness day. Today I would have been 34 weeks pregnant. O how I long to still have you with me, but you’re in the safe hands of our Heavenly Father. We pleaded for you to stay and we will never know why this happened, but we know we will use Samuel and our story to bring God Glory. I have a mission here on earth and a little one waiting for me in heaven. To know how God felt on a personal way when his son died on the cross for us, is to know the deep love his has for his people even in deep of grief, sadness, and confusion.

Today we light a candle at 7:00pm during the Wave of Light to honor Samuel and all the babies in heaven and the families missing them here on earth. 🕯️

October is Pregnancy & Infant loss awareness month

Samuel changed our lives in his short 53 minutes here on earth. We prayed for him, dreamed about who he would become, and I loved every second of growing him. We will continue loving him for the rest of our lives.

Grief has taught me that faith and heartbreak can exist in the same place. I wish more than anything that he were here while also finding comfort in knowing that he is completely whole, completely loved, and held in Heaven with Jesus.

This month, I’m remembering Samuel and every baby who was deeply loved but gone far too soon. I’m also thinking of every mom, dad, and family carrying a grief that the rest of the world may not always see.

Our babies legacy live on. Their lives mattered. And they will always be part of our families.🤍
