Feeling really honored today to share that this labor of love is officially published with the @togetherjournal, a publication I have long respected in the wedding industry. Fun fact: during Ellen & Josh’s ceremony on Hood Canal, two sea otters popped up out of the water and kissed! It was an otter-ly auspicious beautiful moment, giving their seal of approval.

Every so often, when everyone’s looking at you, I like to look at them.

So many of my couples express the same sentiment: that they value their community more than anything. It’s who they’ve built their lives around, it’s the village that upholds them. On a wedding day, the entirety of that village gets to show up for you in a singular moment. Tears and drinks are spilt. The energy is palpable. To be swimming in that sea and getting to know my couples through the eyes of their loved ones feels like the greatest privilege.

Last week I had the honor of attending @kineticexperiences, an invite only, multi-day event with education, experiences, and genuine connection with some of the best people in the wedding industry.

I’m not sure what my expectations were, but surely they were blown out of the water. I cannot say enough good things about Sam of @houseofjoy.co for creating such a warm, collaborative, joy-filled week. Creative director @adrianamevents absolutely took the vision and created immersive design experiences that were full of surprise and delight.

Highlights included hangs with @danielkimphoto, yoga and lawn chats with *the* wedding industry visionary @sar_schreiber, and boating with @shannonleahyevents while having honest convos about the industry and our whys for showing up (s/o @sproutscontent with the most joyful + curious convo starters). The surprise party with @dj_malike_ on our final night with all the new homies was the cherry on top.

Fun was had, friendships were made, and I’m just feeling really grateful to have gotten the opportunity. The people in this industry care so deeply about their craft, the couples they serve, believe in hospitality to their core, and create art in event spaces that truly blows my mind. I can’t believe that this is the industry I get to call “work,” and these are the friends I call “coworkers.”
