September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month in America. As anyone knows when a loved one is diagnosed with cancer you can feel helpless, I know I did when my mum was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer and so I did what I knew and stepped up as her plant based guide. After interviewing 3 separate nutritionists in the UK and realizing I knew more then they did I took on the role. It opened my eyes to the disconnect between western medicine and supporting the body and so Moulton, (wearing in the photo), was born. The support I received for my fashion for a cause design was beyond humbling. Connecting with others through Fashion Fights Cancer as their spokesmodel and later on the board of honorees reminded me that by giving we receive so much more. That’s the beauty of giving without expecting anything in return. So to anyone facing cancer or supporting a loved one you’ve got this. You are not alone. My docu series has been a labor of love that is a result of this journey and all I’ve learnt and the phenomenal people I’ve connected with along the way. @thegreenagency Where it all began. My first short film became a festival darling, receiving critical acclaim and winning numerous awards on the festival curcuit. The experience was an artists dream. Shopping with the director on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach at my favorite vintage boutiques for my characters wardrobe. The collaboration process fuels me. Forever thankful to Michele Pommier Models for opening the door to my acting journey. Working on this film inspired me to relocate to NYC to study my craft at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts….best choice I made….(Ballad of a Soldier directed by Oscar Diaz.shot on location in the Everglades). A love story told through the eyes of a soldiers sacrifice. I’m so excited for what’s to come and the opportunity to keep growing and expanding and challenging myself as an artist with you Tammy and The Green Agency Team by my side. “I’m a storyteller and the human connection is what I thrive on. Being able to use my broadcast skills in between my acting and modeling projects is a privilege” For those who don’t know, while studying for my degree in broadcast journalism I worked on air as the fashion and hip hop reporter on The Word and that evolved to on camera. I continued working as a tv host while modeling in Miami Beach and then in NYC while studying my craft and now as an actress it’s a joy to be able to use my broadcast experience in between and around my acting projects.
