I’ll never forget the time I made a little girl’s face light up when I pitted next to her at the go kart track. I don’t think she’d ever seen another girl there. So while driving fast cars is cool, it goes much deeper for me. Everything I do is to inspire the next generation of girls; to show them that this exists, it’s hella fun, and they can do it too. 💖

I find that gatekeeping is a real problem, and girls are often seen as dumb and just “Drive to Survive fans” that don’t actually know anything about the sport. When the reality is, all the rise of girls in motorsport would have happened anyway had we all been introduced to it like boys got to be. If you’re a 30 year old woman newly into Motorsport now, chances are, you would have been at 12 too. We just were conditioned to play with Barbie, and heaven forbid we were multi dimensional and into both things.

It’s a shame. But we’re here now, and here to stay. 💁🏻‍♀️🏎️

Not the most exciting recap tbh. I had one session that was decent, but all the others were cut short so I barely got any driving time in. Sucks cause I really wanted to keep improving at this track, but I didn’t have much opportunity to.

I decided to skip the last session to save the tires for this weekend at Big Willow, cause truthfully I was just done and frustrated with how the day was run. One session we waited for 30 minutes in the car, and it was right after lunch. It blew my mind the track wasn’t cleared during the hour it was cold. Not sure what happened there 🤷🏻‍♀️. But people aren’t perfect and mistakes are made, so it is what it is! Gotta move on.

What I’m most proud of is this was my first time out by myself, and I felt so much less anxious and comfortable in the car 😅. My instincts kicked in and I was fully aware of the track, people passing, going around debris, it was like I had been doing it all my life. It was the boost of confidence I needed to realize I have good instincts if I’m able to exercise them.

One thing that was different for me was this org only wanted passing offline, so the car being passed was supposed to stay on the racing line. My preference has always been to move offline and since no one ever enforced it, I picked up some bad habits. So I fucked that up a few times lol. 😬
