☕️cappuccino: your ultimate comfort book
It’s hard to pick one but it would be between The Outsiders, Rumble Fish, and That Was Then, This Is Now! The Outsiders led me to read the others and I’ve loved all three for ages now!

🌙midnight fear: a book that made you afraid of your own shadow
The Shining made me scared of not only my own shadow but also scared to leave the door to my bedroom open at night because what if I saw something from the book? But at the same time scared to have the door open because what if something tried to come in my room or I heard something knock against the door? I think this mainly came from reading the book late at night.

⛈️thunderstorm: a book that had you sobbing uncontrollably
Definitely Sunrise on the Reaping, I still haven’t gotten over it.

🍂falling leaves: a book that’s perfect to read at a coffee shop
Although it’s been a minute since I’ve read it, Odd Apocalypse would go well with a coffee shop!

👻sleeping phantom: a book that makes you feel the halloween spirit
Definitely IT or any Stephen King book!

After having read Wicked, I started going through the rest of the Wicked Years and got part of the way through A Lion Among Men before getting too busy over the summer to finish it. I remembered the general plot up to where I had gotten but because it had been so long since I sat and read it I decided to start back from the beginning with rereading Elphie. The book goes through Elphie’s life when she was younger up until right before the beginning of Wicked. I thought it was interesting to see what that was like and thought it was worth the reread despite there being a couple of parts that had me sitting there processing life lol

First shelfie Sunday because why not? Most of these are on my fall hopefuls and right now I’m reading Elphie! I’m excited about reading the newer Heartstopper book and the rest of the books in the Wicked Years so hopefully I’ll follow through with reading them, especially since they’ve been on my tbr for a while and want to go through that first before starting anything else lol

I absolutely loved this book and read it in about 4 days but definitely could have finished it sooner if I didn’t have to put it down to go to class. I absolutely loved reading the story about Audre and Mabel and how they fell in love. I had to mentally prepare myself for finishing the book but I loved the way the book ended and couldn’t think of a better ending for it. 10/10 recommend, I don’t think I’ll stop thinking about this book for the foreseeable future

This was my first time reading 1984 and there are definitely parts that reminded me so much of things that are happening now. I felt absolutely disgusted with the things the Party did, especially with thoughtcrimes and how it lead to the way the book ended. I’d be here forever if I said everything I think about this book and what I liked about it

“I wondered if they were born like this, or if something about the palace made them this way, like a cliff pine bent by strong winds.”

I absolutely loved reading this book and will be thinking about it constantly for the foreseeable future. It’s about a girl who grew up affected by famine getting the chance to be a concubine for a cruel prince. She has to figure out how to survive. It has some dark aspects to it, both physically and sexually. The author does have them listed at the beginning of the book. I personally enjoyed reading the book and would read it again :)

Also Purple Moon by Chrissy Chlapecka and sick kinda feeling by jeena came out while I was reading this and I listened to both a ton while reading and it was great

This was one of those books where once I got into it I couldn’t put it down. I did agree with some of the things said in it like, “Fuck the patriarchy,” “no automation, AI or machine, could create stories. Not truly. We could pull from existing datasets, detect patterns, then copy and paste them in a new order, and sometimes that seemed like creation. But this couldn’t capture the narrative magic that humanity could wield.” I also liked how the ending was one of those that I didn’t expect. But what made me give it 3/5 instead of 5/5 were a few things that one of the characters said when it came to how his cousin is trans that I wasn’t a huge fan of and how at the end I started thinking about how some of the things made it seem like it was good to use AI when making stories, another thing that I’m not a fan of and definitely don’t agree with since I’m a D1 AI hater and there’s really no way for me to put into words how much I loathe AI. There were also a few points where things were said instead of shown.

I read My Hero Academia for the first time and I loved it! I definitely want to read more and get around to finishing watching it too. After reading it I don’t know why I was hesitant to read it because it was a really fun read. Anyways my goodreads is anotherdilemma and I’m still trying to figure out what exactly I want my posts to look like, but there’s also the possibility of just going with whatever feels right instead of trying to figure out a set plan for what I want in my posts lol

I finished reading The Bee Sting by Paul Murray and I need like 50 days to sit here and think about it and how it ended. I feel like it’s going to be consuming my thoughts for a while. But yeah this is my first post for this account doing the whole bookstagram thing and I really don’t know what I’m doing and don’t have any fancy captions or posts planned out yet but I do plan on working on that and coming up with ideas on what to post and what to say in captions lol. I also listened to ily by trinity jay on repeat, maitreya corso by maya hawke, and mint tobacco by the wrecks as I was finishing reading this and it was great lol by @emmsbookstack
