I don’t often feel compelled to talk about this but recently I’ve been feeling it more than ever

three days after christmas in 2023, my mom died quite suddenly. i struggle to articulate how hard this has been and the weight of her loss which i feel daily. this type of grief changes you as a person, but I didn’t realise that all these slow changes would become permanent.

losing her resulted in a huge loss of my identity and purpose, as she was always the anchor of my life. i have tried so many ways since to feel more connected to her in any way I can, to be a person she’d be proud of & to experience things she never got to. this tattoo I got of her handwriting was a reminder to myself that life is short and that love should always be shared

🤍 it’s also a reminder to look out for the people around you who may be struggling with mental health, where the pressure in our society is heavier than ever. as sad as it can be, I spent all day thinking about her and how lucky I was to be loved by her. so for that, i am grateful 🫶🏻

also my mom hated tattoos so would be fuming if she could see this by @emmxfield
