Went head hunting today for a sack and wound up backing up our solid limit from the day before with another 9.56lbs. Missing the nationals cut by a few spots stings but more motivation to get after it this summer to prepare for college. All in all a solid tournament on unfamiliar territory and a respectable 11th place finish out of the best competition in the state.

Swung on em’ today and wrangled up 10.54lbs in the IBN state championship on Springfield to put us within striking distance to make a run at the national bid cutline. Thanks to a late day kicker and @emmy.pieri making a last hour cull we are in the hunt. Gonna put our heads down and go head hunting tomorrow looking for 5 quality bites.

Had another historic day on Egypt today. We weighed in 21lbs 7oz good enough for the win by a decent margin. We played the smart game this weekend. I fished smart, hard, and clean. By halfway through the day we thought we had what it took to win but we weren’t content with that. Made a couple magical last hour casts and managed to land a 5-2 and a 5-6 with a half hour to go giving us a historic bag and the third largest ever for high school in Illinois. Not only did we win again back to back today but that gives us a 5 peat for the spring series at Egypt as well as my 7th ICASSTT win and my largest tournament sack ever beat out yesterday’s 20-13. With a 2-day total of over 42lbs we are not only happy with our performance but we are hungry for more. Happy with the finish but not satisfied quite yet.
