Tonight we celebrate the launch of ‘Music After Us’ by Venus Flytrap with support from Frau & Paper-Cuts. For one night, we gather in the imagined landscape behind the tape. Join us for a night of ambient, downtempo and atmospheric techno at Tender from 7pm-12am (set times + info below).

Tickets via Humanitix include a limited General Admission + Cassette option, available until sold out. All remaining tickets and cassettes will be for sale on the door from 7pm. Tender will be serving both alcoholic / non-alcoholic beverages.

Tonight’s show is a social event, however be mindful when talking over the music. Guests are invited to draw their own imagined creatures that exist in the world after us. Paper and crayons will be provided.

The mystical forest of Yakushima, 8.5hr hike to pay our respect to Jomon sugi - the old ass cedar tree, showing boyfriend where tf I come from, admiring how full of nature it was at my primary school, my parents are doing so great, going to a lot of magic shops, just eating so much good food every meal, reconnecting with my highschool friends, getting a really good acupuncture and osteo treatment, my skin and body loving the water in Japan, driving around onsen areas in our mini box car, missing friends, endlessly bobbing around, making new friends in Seoul, coming home with our cups fully full, our hearts full of love and my belly attacked by gastro yet again. by @emmyfukuda

Marking the third entry in our cassette series, close label affiliate and dear friend Ruo aka Venus Flytrap presents “Music After Us” - a 90-minute drift through a speculative future in the post-Anthropocene era.

Blending stripped-back, distorted and atmospheric techno, the Melbourne-via-China DJ moves between day and night, shifting between reflection and release - a quiet meditation on what comes next.

Colours of Sicily ➿

Most of the photos are from Vizzini, a small town near Catania, where our grandparents left in the 50s to migrate to Australia. We rocked up to this ghost town during siesta hours when barely anyone one was on the street, already soaked in sweat in the 35+ deg heat from the hairy car ride in the traffic of chaos … We didn’t know anyone but met some iconic locals - one of them clocked after about an hour of discussion that he was in fact our nonna’s cousin (old people with hazy memories) - who forcedly took us to the social club which was vibrant with the locals playing cards sipping lemonade, showed us all the rooms and explained the history of town to us. We spent ages there being amazed by the sheer grandness of the surrounding landscape, roaming around town contemplating on the imaginary parallel lives of ours and the what-ifs - and the idea of belonging and fitting in, which we don’t ever seem to find an answer to.

Recent drawings 🎴🔮💫

Most of these humble doodles will be for sale this Tuesday at 7pm via my insta stories to raise funds for “Gaza to Australia”, a program run by Islamic Relief Australia. Through this initiative, they provide comprehensive support to the refugees from Gaza, who are settling in and adapting to living in a completely new country and culture of so-called Australia. Example of assistance provided includes “comprehensive support, tailored to each family’s needs, covering emotional wellbeing, cultural adaptation, language assistance and help with living costs.”

Having moved countries and gone through the adjustment of living in a completely different culture myself, I have a particular interest in taking part in this initiative. All proceeds will be donated. Ty xx by @emmyfukuda
