Oh no! It looks like @wormspunk were pulled into a 🪱wormhole🪱 and can’t perform at Emo Night anymore! And it’s crazy because it’s SO TRUE and a total coincidence! 😩 We hope they’ll be okay! They’re sending love from the Tesseract!

But luckily when they were pulled in @staticcatband were spat out all the way from Cape Town! How lucky are we? 🥹😭 FATE!

Come to Emo Night on 9 May at @hotstixmusicbar where the drinks are flowing and the emos are beautiful 🫂

🗣️ EMO NIGHT PRESENTS: FEEDBACK 🗣️

Remember growing up in the era of Buzzfeed listicles, binge-watching ‘Broad City’, and believing that open plan offices meant a utopian future of hipster moustaches and craft brew? Well, uhhh, here we are instead! 🥲

But that doesn’t mean that for one night we can’t exist in a perfect world of 3OH!3 and Kesha’s ‘My First Kiss’, flower crowns, and shutter shades. We’re throwing the emo house party to end ALL emo house parties across Cape Town, Joburg, and Pretoria with the best local talent on the scene 🥰🎸

What can you expect?
🥤 Live performances from your favourite artists
🥤 High-def? Naur. We’re going vintage with a retro gaming station
🥤 Twister, beer pong, and whatever else you’d find in a Williamsburg loft
🥤 Fun pop up vendors across tattoos, jewellery, clothing, and food
🥤 She’s infected with… whimsy… the Dashcon ball pit makes a return!

Plus, we’ve got a free event to warm you up in collaboration with @cpt_metalrealm and @skipramen! Announcement coming soon… 👀🎤

We love you! 🗣️ Thank you so much for your support! 🗣️ 10 years of Emo Night! 🗣️ LFG! 🗣️

Early birds start from R150! Get ‘em in our bio!

Thank you to Paul Bothner 🎸 and LIFT ✈️ for sponsoring this event! Literally would not be possible otherwise!

🚨 EMO NIGHT PRETORIA ON 7 MARCH CANCELLED 🚨

It’s with a very heavy heart that we have decided to cancel Emo Night Pretoria’s Wet Hot Emo Summer on 7 March.

We are in a moment of life-threatening illness in our family, and right now, we need to focus on being present with our loved ones. We know many of you were looking forward to this event, especially after the fun we had in Cape Town and Joburg this past weekend, but we truly appreciate your understanding and support during this difficult time.

If you know Cass (@doomed_oracle) and me (@arismit_), you know that we never make decisions like this lightly. And for those of you in the know about what’s happening in our family, we really love and appreciate your messages of kindness and hope so much.

But we aren’t going anywhere forever, we just need a teeny break for now! We’ll be back soon to announce something massive that’s been in the works for a while — iykyk it’s going to be a big one 🖤

Stay tuned for more details and see you in the pit again before you know it.

Love,
Cass & Ari 🖤 taken in HotStix Music & Pool Bar by @emonightpta

Looking out for each other is actually very fucking cool, if you think about it.

If you’re an event organiser or regular in the scene, this is a quick ‘n easy way for us to know who needs help when. If you need help, this could make getting support from event organisers, safety teams, and other attendees easier!

We’ll be popping these posters up in the bathrooms of some of our favourite venues. There’s a free download link in our bio if you’d like to grab this poster and put it up somewhere too!

Kudos to our Emo Night safety volunteers for suggesting this to us! Because we’re literally nothing without our community 🖤 by @emonightpta
