Who wants a treat??!! 🐩🐕🐐🤤
Ok but seriously, here’s our book!
We’ve been cooking on the original idea: a by dogs for dogs newspaper covering political and social issues from a dog perspective since I was 10. We call this newspaper The Barking Puppy. And now, it’s a book! Lori and I have been conspiring on The Barking Puppy book for the past 6 years, and NOW ITS OFFICIALLY RELEASED!

The Barking Puppy is a middle grade fiction, because we need more young ones to read about being a brown girl, the gayz, loving your dogs and neighbors, and having good fashion and never denying it!

If you’re really about it- get a copy from anywhere books are sold, but I recommend getting it straight from our publisher’s website @levinequerido, and if you’re a fan of listening to books, get excited, cause the audiobook version narrated by me!

Or, even better: buy it at a bookstore near you! It’s good to support your locals!

You can also read about The Barking Puppy in recent Boston Globe article by @kate_tuttle, and in The Kirkus Review. @bostonglobe @kirkus_reviews
If you like videos better, we cater to your needs too! Search up The Barking Puppy book on YouTube.

If I could put a song to this post it would be “Who Let The Dogs Out” by Baha Men. Hearing my young voice in slide 8 is more worth it though... taken in New Book by @emperorgoober

10 days until Dog Circus Block Party comes out! The second book in The Barking Puppy series! 📖🎪🪩

If you haven’t been locked in 🥁 here’s context: Lori Lobenstine and I came out with a middle grade fiction last year! And now, there is another one.

What’s up in the new book: Ten ‘No Pooping’ signs on one lawn?? Sophie and her teenage pal Juno are trying to bring their neighborhood together with an awesome “Dog Circus Block Party”, but their bossy new neighbor’s signs are not helping. And wait a second…could he have something to do with her school suddenly facing closure, too? Between learning to unicycle, tracking down the mayor’s secret meeting, and making Bonney-the-Pug into a ventriloquist, Sophie still has to figure out the ultimate clown protest. But will it be enough to keep her school open and her dog and human pack together?

“A joyful, community-centered ode to collective action.” Says @kirkus_reviews

“A bright mix of school and neighborhood high jinks that touches on timely social justice issues.” - School Library Journal @sljournal
