We're officially homeowners! Corey and I are so happy to be putting roots down here in Ingram, Tx, our happy place! This home feels like it was just sitting here waiting for us, it's so perfect! We have 1.14 acres, a stone fireplace, lots of natural light, a sun porch that faces the sunrise (my favorite time of day), and a front and back porch that we can screen in to make a catio for Moses! We are so incredibly thankful to everyone that made this happen! by @emphillips411

I'm a couple days late, but happy gotcha day to this little toot! He's an endless source of entertainment, love, snuggles, and 3am biscuits. The cutest thing to ever come out of the Ingram post office. Thanks to my aunt Laurie and the cat distribution system for bringing him to us! We love you, Moses! 🐈‍⬛ by @emphillips411

We did a little 4-ish mile kayak trip today. It was a beautiful day for it! There's still lots and lots of visible damage from the flood, but so much beauty in everything that's coming back. There are reminders everywhere about what happened here almost a year ago, and it's still hard to wrap your head around just exactly how high the water got. Enjoying the river is something I will never take lightly, considering everything it's taken. But it gives so much as well. It's always been my happy place, and I'm so happy to see how much it's already recovered. by @emphillips411

Today is one year since we officially moved to Kerrville! This year has been beautiful, but not at all what I imagined, starting with the flood happening 3 days after we opened our business, and ending with the passing of my beloved grandmother. All things considered, I'm so happy with where we are. Our business has really taken off. I have several "pinch me" moments each day, because I really can't believe we're doing what we're doing at our little grooming salon. We wouldn't be here without the support of my incredible family, and I'm so happy we get to spend so much time with them!

We've also made so many friends! I was so nervous when we moved out here that we wouldn't find "our people," but I'm so happy to say that we've met so many amazing people, and we're so happy to be part of the community out here!

Last, but certainly not least, I'm a cat mom now! I've never been a cat person, but Moses found us and I became smitten with the kitten. He really brightens our days, and I'm so happy to have this furry little guy in my life

Overall, I'm so happy we made this move! I feel like this is the best decision we've ever made! 🩵 by @emphillips411

I had such a fun birthday weekend! I had so much fun enjoying my weekend that I only managed to take a few pictures. Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes! I had lots of fun, food, and wine, and today I had a nice relaxing lazy day at home. Bonus picture at the end of our little party animal 😻 by @emphillips411

I must be honest, it took me a while to open my heart to another pet after we lost Nugget. This little guy came to us through the cat distribution system right after the flood as a tiny baby. My aunt found him in the post office at about 8 weeks old. He's a constant source of love and light, as well as a little spiciness, just like Nugget. I never thought we would be cat parents, but here we are! He goes outside during the day and comes to me when I call him. He follows me around like a little shadow when I walk around the property. He loves a good snuggle, but he also likes to do his own thing. We're so blessed to be loved by such a sweet little guy. Everybody, meet Moses! by @emphillips411

Today marks 20 years since Corey and I started dating! Now here we are, living our best life out here in Ingram, taking selfies with our sweet little kitty, Moses. We've come so far in the last 20 years, and I can't wait to see where the next 20 take us! 🥰 by @emphillips411

I've been trying to wrap my head around what's happened here before posting anything. It's such a surreal feeling, seeing all the emergency vehicles, search and rescue teams, helicopters, just constantly going back and forth. My family and I are all so lucky that we're all safe. My heart breaks for everyone who lost their loved ones, their homes, their pets, and for all those souls that were lost in the water.

I'm so sad to see all these trees gone. Trees that I sat under so many times throughout my life, having a snack after a nice swim in the river, or sitting around laughing with family, or a nap in the grass on a towel, or just lying on my back and looking up through the leaves.

I'm so thankful that all my family and friends are safe and for this tight-knit community for coming together during this unprecedented time. I'm so happy and proud to be a part of the Kerrville community. by @emphillips411
