So many firsts on this trip! 🦈🇨🇻

Wading with the lemon sharks at Shark Bay was something I really wanted to tick off my list.

As someone who's never really felt comfortable with animals touching me (let alone sharks swimming around my feet! 😅), this was a huge step outside my comfort zone.

I didn't expect one of my favourite memories from Sal to come from something that scared me... but here we are.

I'm so proud of myself for saying yes to the experience, and it's a memory I'll treasure for a lifetime.

If you're planning a trip to Sal, I'd definitely recommend adding this experience to your itinerary.

Most people plan travel around destinations.
Where to go.
What to see.
How much to fit into a few days.

But I’ve always approached travel differently.

For me, the first question is never the destination.
It is always the feeling.
Do I want to rest and reset?
Do I want quiet exploration and space to think?
Do I want inspiration, culture, and beautiful experiences?

Because when a trip is planned in alignment with your energy and the season of life you are in, the experience feels completely different.
It flows better.
You notice more.

You return home feeling fuller, not exhausted.
That is the foundation of how I plan travel.

Every season in your life deserves the right destination and the right type of planning.

Postcards from Cabo Verde 🇨🇻

Cabo Verde has always been high on my bucket list. I was supposed to celebrate my 40th birthday here, but the pandemic had other plans. So finally being here on the island of Sal, six years later as I approach my 46th birthday, feels incredibly special.

My first impressions have been everything I hoped for and more. Witnessing the mesmerising Blue Eye at Buracona reminded me that some places simply have to be experienced in person. No photo or video could have prepared me for just how beautiful it is.

The people have been so warm and welcoming, and touring the island has given me a deeper appreciation for its history, culture and way of life.

The Atlantic breeze, the fresh seafood and the slower pace of life have been exactly what my soul needed.

I'm not the biggest football fan, but being here while Cabo Verde celebrates reaching the World Cup knockout stage has made the atmosphere even more special. The pride across the island is something you can truly feel.

This is only the beginning, and I can't wait to share more of Sal with you.

As they say in Cabo Verde...

Exploring Sal 🇨🇻

In this season of my life, I wasn't looking for another adventure or a packed itinerary. I came to Sal to relax, reset, rejuvenate and re-evaluate.

I almost skipped the island tour because I thought I could explore Sal on my own. Looking back, I'm so glad I didn't.

Travelling through Espargos, spending time in Palmeira, watching the fishing boats return and seeing how deeply connected the sea is to everyday life gave me a completely different perspective of the island.

For someone who usually plans every detail of a trip, allowing someone else to lead was a reminder that not every journey needs to be controlled. Choosing this tour allowed me to experience Sal through the eyes of someone who knows the island best, and in doing so, I was able to be fully present.

This season of my life is about creating space to breathe, to relax, to trust the process and to simply enjoy where I am.

So far, Sal has been exactly what I needed.

Tirana Pottery Studio is such a lovely and unique way to experience the city from a different perspective.

Instead of rushing around and ticking things off, you slow down, create something from scratch, and enjoy Tirana through a more social, relaxed evening while meeting locals and fellow travellers.

The class takes place at Muzat Art Café & Gallery, a cosy, artsy space with a really welcoming atmosphere. It’s the kind of experience that feels easy, unrushed, and genuinely enjoyable especially if you’re travelling solo or simply want to try something a little different.

Tirana’s food scene is quietly impressive, fresh, high quality ingredients, thoughtfully prepared.

Folium stands out for all the right reasons. Exceptional food, attentive service, and an inviting atmosphere that makes you lose track of time.
