In between motherhood, family, work and life, I’ve had the pleasure of preparing and delivering workshops for athletes and this is the kind of impact work I absolutely love. ⚽🎀✨ This little snippet is from a Life Skills Training Series that Frazsiers Whip Football Club @frazsierswhip has been providing for its female athletes β€” investing not only in how they perform on the field, but in who they are becoming off it. My sessions focus on: 🎀 Public speaking & confidence πŸŽ™οΈ Interviewing and media skills πŸ“– Creating and articulating your athlete story πŸ“Ί Preparing for media interviews ⚽ Communicating with scouts, coaches and other key stakeholders πŸ’‘ Learning how to show up, speak up and represent yourself with confidence Because developing an athlete should be about more than physical performance. It’s about developing the whole athlete β€” helping young people understand their story, recognise their value and find the confidence to use their voice. That’s the impact work I love: helping people find their voice, no matter where they are β€” on or off the field. And I want to hear from YOU, especially our farmers and families who were directly affected. 🌱 How are you rebuilding? 🌱 What progress have you made over the past year? 🌱 What support have you received from the Government and private sector? 15 YEARS. πŸ’Žβ€οΈ Our Crystal Anniversary. 15 years married. 2 beautiful children. A whole lot of laughter. Some tears. Some unforgettable highs. Some difficult lows. Growth, change, forgiveness, frustration, friendship, passion… and all the things a real marriage can bring. Marriage has taught us that LOVE isn’t just romance, butterflies and beautiful pictures. After 15 years, LOVE feels a little more grown. L β€” LUST ❀️‍πŸ”₯ That fire. That attraction. That I still want you after the children, the responsibilities, the stress, the changes, the years and everything life has thrown our way. O β€” OPENNESS Being honest enough to say what we need, what hurts, what feels good, what we desire and who we are becoming. Giving each other permission to keep discovering the person we married. V β€” VULNERABILITY Taking off the armour. Being naked beyond the physical. At just nine years old, Zippy stepped onto the field with the big boys β€” fearless, focused, and ready for some football fun! She ran, she kicked, she battled, she smiled… and in between games? What an honour it was to host Day One of the Strike Star Entertainment @strike_star_ent Screenwriters Workshop 2026 β€” β€œScript to Screen: Unlocking the Future of Film.” 🎬✨ Day One was all about CRAFT & CREATION and what a day of conversations, lessons, laughter, honesty and creative energy! The workshop is focused on supporting emerging Jamaican creatives and connecting them with experienced film-industry professionals. We explored: πŸŽ₯ From Vision to Screen β€” @bennyboom ✍🏾 Your Story Starts Here: Turning an Idea into a Script β€” @bennyboom, tyronerashard, Brad C. Hodson & @mustafaspeaks 🌍 From Page to Audience: Building Stories That Travel Across Formats & Markets β€” @cesssilvera 🎭 The Actor’s Craft & Career β€” Michael Nicholson, John Chambers, David C. Waite & @mustafaspeaks 🎬 Directing the Page: Creating a Visual Story β€” @bennyboom & R. Malcolm Jones And, of course, we brought music into the storytelling with performances from Oraine and Jah Lil. That full Day One programme took us from the initial creative idea through writing, performance, directing and ultimately reaching audiences. One of my biggest takeaways? Jamaica does not have a shortage of stories. Our stories are rich, powerful, funny, complicated, culturally specific and worthy of the world’s screens. What we need is to continue building the craft, infrastructure, connections and opportunities that allow those stories and the people behind them to travel. I’m grateful to Strike Star Entertainment for trusting me with the responsibility of guiding these conversations, and to every speaker who shared their experiences so generously. POV: Your child has more going on this weekend than you do πŸ˜‚βš½πŸ“š The weekend with #17 Zipporah… πŸ˜‚βš½πŸ‰πŸ“šπŸŽ’πŸ§ƒ We started off on the football field, where Miss Zippy was out there showing the bigger boys that size doesn’t matter when you came to PLAY! πŸ˜‚βš½πŸ”₯ This girl LOVES football! Give her a ball and a field and she is HAPPY! ⚽❀️ She could play all day if we allowed her. Then it was off to her next technical training session because apparently playing football wasn’t enough football for one day. πŸ˜‚βš½πŸ’ͺ🏽 After all that running around, it was time for some healthy goodness β€” home-grown watermelon πŸ‰ and guava picked straight from her tree! πŸŒ³πŸ’š From the yard straight to the belly! πŸ˜‚ Then Sunday came and it was HOMEWORK DAY! πŸ“šβœοΈ And one thing about Zipporah β€” you don’t have to tell her to do her homework. She genuinely LOVES homework, loves learning and LOVES school! β€οΈπŸ“š So homework was done, bags were packed πŸŽ’ and everything was ready for Monday.
