YOUR ARMS ARE MY COCOON - 9.21.26 | Benefit Show at @emptybliss666
There’s really not many bands that quite hit the zone that Your Arms have gotten to. The tour they’ve recently finished was a run of venue shows, as opposed to their more traditional bearings among DIY rooms and festivals, then to land back in Chicago at a small cramped basement, air thick with humidity and pipes slick with condensation. The room huddled around the four of them, corralling the band making the act of performance a test of endurance, that the previous acts had not partaken to as much a degree. Speakers shook and rolled with the impacts of the sea of people crashing like waves open the brink. And in the stillness of some songs, there came a quiet that was unbroken, garnering such respect and admiration. There are few bands and catalogs that compare in such a way as theirs, and I have only grown in my appreciation towards them all as musicians with every stage I’ve shared and photo I’ve taken in their meteoric growth.

chicago! @yourarmsaremycocoon plays a homecoming benefit show tomorrow at the one and only @emptybliss666 ⭐️

joined by @battleofblairmountain1921, @toyoudeary, and @tollbooth.chi 💕 DM @blackdicerecords for address. Limited capacity. Doors 6:30, Music 7PM. If you can’t make it, feel free to send additional donations on Venmo!

about 3 weeks ago, a dear friend of ours and of the heavy music scene had to be hospitalized due to a ruptured lung, causing his chest cavity to be filled with air, putting pressure on his heart and other internal organs, and leaving him in excruciating pain with every breath he took. the week long stay at 2 different emergency rooms and 2 different hospitals was extremely taxing both physically and mentally, and we’re so grateful to say now that his body is healing, but now the crushing weight of all the medical bills from his hospital stay has hit and is putting immense pressure on his finances. all the proceeds from this show will go to help him pay off this medical debt, and we also ask that if you’re unable to attend due to capacity limits, to please consider donating anyway. any amount is much appreciated, and will help relieve some of the financial pressures and allow him to just focus on healing and recovering. ❤️‍🩹 by @emptybliss666
