Empty Nester turned Sourdough Baker 🥖 Licensed Cottage Baker making long fermented bread for better health 📍Rancho Cucamonga, Ca ✝️Matthew 4:4

POSTS STORIES REELS

I started baking sourdough in the first few months of becoming an empty nester. I missed having my kids at home and was struggling to adjust. I found that mixing the dough and creating something from just flour, water, and salt was very calming. I started baking way more than my husband and I could consume so I gave out loaves to friends and neighbors. Eventually, people started asking if they could order from me. Now I bake an average of 25 loaves and a few dozen cookies and muffins each weekend for my community. I’ve met so many wonderful people and am truly blessed by this small business!

I had a loaf of Jalapeño Cheddar that was a few days old and wanted to give it a refresh. I usually just toast it, but I wanted that soft fresh out of the oven experience. This also works well if the loaf was previously frozen and defrosted.

Sourdough classes are coming! 🤍
I’ve had many of you ask when I’d start teaching, and I’m so excited to finally make it happen.

With my love for sourdough and a background in homeschooling and teaching, this feels like the perfect fit. I’m excited for the way God is weaving these passions together!

Bake day is so satisfying. I love to see the final product after the hours of mixing, kneading, and proofing. I still gasp on occasion when I open the oven to see my bakes show off that beautiful rise.

I should have known better than to try and record a video when someone else was home. I think he just wanted to make a cameo in my video 🤣
