When I was driving through Davenport, I was looking for cool spots to photograph the Milky Way, but I never expected to find such a gem. An abandoned house, covered in graffiti and so old and destroyed that it could only mean one thing: it holds a lot of history and memories that now feel like echoes of what it once was. When I returned later that night, I was thrilled to see the Milky Way aligning perfectly behind it. I spent a few hours photographing this gorgeous scene, which even then felt deeply poetic.

Two nights ago, I experienced one of the best nights of my life. There was a major geomagnetic storm, so I went chasing the Northern Lights near the Truckee area. After waiting for hours with no luck, I decided to head back home. On my way, I received a notification that the aurora was being seen in California, so I pulled over at the Emigrant Gap overlook. Around 2 a.m., the Northern Lights began to glow and dance across the sky. I stayed there until 4 a.m., photographing the moment.

“Alive”

This shot had been on my bucket list for years! I think ever since I started doing photography, I’ve always wanted to get a lightning bolt while the sun was still out.
