Freezing fog is an eerie weather event that we were lucky enough to experience on both Saturday and Sunday last weekend. Fog forms as super-cooled droplets and adheres to every surface and it feels like you’ve stepped into a snow globe. Then as the sun comes out, the frost falls from all of the surfaces and glow in the light. I believe my car had -9 F when I went out to capture these photos❄️

Last week, we got over a foot of snow where I live in southeastern Indiana. I spent a lot of time with my kids and it was a welcome break of doing things at a slower pace. Over the weekend, we were lucky to get freezing frost so that the trees were glowing - this is just from iPhone of the frost falling from the trees as the sun bathed the ground. It’s been a weird time to navigate social media for me so I’ve been actively avoiding it, trying to make sense of it all. I hope you are all hanging in out there.

Happy Tuesday friends! I’m still playing catch up on sharing photos/videos so today I’m sharing a canyon I happened upon in Utah. After visiting a state park last year, I plugged my next destination into my maps and was so excited as we started on this small, windy road. I didn’t research the drive and was not expecting to find this scene. I’m guessing lots of other people felt the same because the mill had no trespassing signs all over it. Luckily I had my drone on me so I was able to fly it quickly before heading out again. Just a reminder you don’t have to have a plan for everything - sometimes beauty finds you.

Hello IG friends and family! I am playing catch up on the platform here with you all and showing my work after a long break. How have you all been? I’ve traveled a little, spent time with my husband and kids and caught up on a lot of movies and tv. And now I’ve got a few things coming up already and I am a little nervous but so pumped to see what this year has in store. Thank you to everyone out there still following and supporting me.

Here are some engagement photos from a gorgeous fall day with an incredible background to play with! This couple was so fun and they just had the best smiles. Thank you @rosienewhart55 for asking me to be a part of this special day! 💍

Before the snow and northern lights hit Indiana, we had a gorgeous fall. We hadn’t had rain in a really long time so it was special when we finally got some rain just as the season was peaking! So I grabbed my sister and we hiked to the falls at Clifty.
On a side note, another reason I am happy to share these photos is that I will begin working with the tourism board in Madison to take photos at their events! I am beyond excited about this opportunity and will be starting with the Nights Before Christmas. Head online and snag your tickets to experience a downtown tour of the historic homes all decorated for Christmas!

One day you’re walking in a winter wonderland and the next you’re jumping in a big pile of leaves on a gorgeous day. All within a couple of days of each other. Last week, Indiana’s weather was wild and you’d think we’d be used to it by now but I went hiking in the snow on Monday fully enjoying the Christmas vibes it was giving me and by Friday, I was raking leaf piles for my boys to jump into basking in the sun. And that’s why I leave the house with 3 different jackets. 🤪

Senior portrait session at golden hour.

As I’ve fallen behind in sharing my photos from this year, here are some from an amazing sunset session I had with Evan. I arrived at his parent’s house and we just walked around, stopping wherever the light took us!

View of the Aurora borealis from southern Indiana!

I had to work last night so I had to quickly take photos of the sky from my yard but I still can’t believe the view. And I apologize for clogging your feed with more aurora shots, but this was just so special to see - my kids were even able to see the lights shining in the sky!! The first shot has some police lights in it as someone crashed into the ditch by our house (unrelated to the sky, everyone was fine). Once they cleared out, it was incredible to witness the building and fading of the lights. There were moments that it looked like ufo’s flying out in the distance and others with big pillars building. I have never been so sad to leave for work! 😂 Were you able to get out to catch anything?

Trail Tuesday at Lake Blanche! On our most recent visit to Utah, we got to spend a few days in SLC with family and it was so hard to pick what hikes to do. I always like picking one challenging hike on vacation and this definitely fit the bill! This hike was around 7 miles total and was uphill straight from the start with about a 2500 foot elevation gain. The reward was Sundial Peak overlooking an alpine lake. We saw a moose, scrambled across rocks and walked among the aspen trees.
If you are interested in this trail - it is actually really busy but once you are at the top, there is hardly anyone there. Be prepared to stop to let others through. No dogs, drones or bikes allowed.

Good morning from Indy.

I work third shift at a hospital downtown and drove home all week staring at the view in my rear view mirror knowing I had to get home to sleep. On Friday, I brought my drone along. I’ll have the sunrise views just this week until time changes. ( I also gotta say - good night to all you third shifters out there!! ✌🏻)

It isn’t a Midwest festival unless there’s a beer tasting involved! But don’t worry - you don’t have to drink to have fun here.
Earlier this summer I was happy to be tasked to capture my town’s second annual “tap and chisel” event which featured local breweries and food! It was such a great event for the community to gather as well as talk to local breweries about their the work and ingredients that go into making their beverages. And I know fall is finally approaching here in Indiana, but I still have sessions and events from this summer to share! Stay tuned!!
