Barev dzez, Armenian Weekly!
A huge thank you to Rosie Nisanyan for this beautiful piece. 🥰 @rosie.the.writer
We’re one day away from the second concert reading of When Two of Us Meet — and it’s overwhelming to think that it’s being presented in partnership with the Embassy of Armenia, especially after convincing myself last summer that I’d be in for a long wait to see if anything would happen after finishing the first iteration. (Shoutout to @aiwainternational for the first wave of encouragement last fall!)

Thank you to everyone who’s helped, supported, or joined @whentwoofusmeet’s development journey so far. I’m sharing a few snippets from the interview here. You can read the full article at the link in my bio.
P.S. Let me know where to send the pitch deck, @cher. 🤩🙏🏼 by @emssimonian

I put a song I’ve been working on in front of someone with decades of music-industry experience and here’s what happened:

This conversation with Tony Michaelides (@tonyigram) was essentially an A&R/workshopping session—I wanted to hear what he heard in the song, what was working, and what wasn’t working.

Tony has worked in record promotion, artist development, and radio, with legendary artists like U2, David Bowie, Bob Marley, and many others. So getting his perspective on my song was an incredible opportunity!

His feedback ultimately gave me the confidence to record this new song as a single.

A huge thank you to Tony for taking the time to listen so thoughtfully and share his perspective. I have so much respect for the career he’s built and the artists and music he’s championed over the years. Getting to have conversations like this is one of the reasons I’m so excited to be making music again.

Tony, thank you!! 🙏🏻

Next, I’m taking all of this into the studio to see where the song goes. Stay tuned for episode III 🖤

#songwriting series, episode I: come BTS with me as I write a new song—from conception and inspiration, to workshopping and recording, I’m taking you with me!
.
Also, if you know my musical @whentwoofusmeet, you might recognize a familiar melody in this song. I’ll talk more about why I decided to borrow a tiny piece of that song (from myself) later in the series!
*Bonus: if you can hear it, drop the name of the ‘When Two of Us Meet’ song in the comments!
