A little trip to Taste of Madison 🍴

After years and years of being in Madison, I *finally* got to Taste of Madison. And I get the hype!

Taste of Madison is one of Top 10 Weekend Events in Madison according to @destinationmadison and it is not to be missed!!

There’s over 90 local food vendors, live music all over the place, and incredible vibes surrounding the Capitol Building. Oh, and it’s totally free to attend!

You’ve got a couple hours! They’re open till 7pm!

And visit the Destination Madison’s website to see the other can’t miss events around Madison this year 🎉

In honor of being cleared to swim, let’s dive in to my beach bag!

5 Non-Negotiable Must-Haves:

📖 A summer-coded paperback book - I have not quite made the jump to reading off a tablet. There’s nothing quite like holding a book in your hands and diving into a summer elsewhere.

🏖️ towel clips - every year I thank previous me for getting these. Until you try them, you don’t know what you’re missing.

🌞 sun protection - I roll deep with sun protection: Spray/lotion for the face & body, a roll-on stick for my face, powder for my scalp, & chapstick for my lips. As much as I love soaking up all the sun as possible, my skin does NOT. Gotta protect it at all costs!

🍫 a filling snack - Sunshine & swimming takes a lot out of you. I always have a snack on me to fuel my body in the moment. Bars like @moshlife are packed with protein to fuel your brain & body… plus they’re really yummy.

😎 sunglasses - This is a given. Once again, very important to protect your eyes against the sun. They also aide in not being blinded while taking beachy pics. Admittedly, I only bring very cost effective sunnies to the beach because the odds I will lose them diving into the ocean is high!

Ain’t NOTHING was gonna break June’s stride!

& life certainly gave it a good old college with a couple of long, stressful, and painful days sprinkled in there.

But more importantly, June also had:
- my introduction to Water For Elephants (@w4emusical) at @overturecenter
- a celebration of Liz & Calob’s love!
- a incredible first surgery experience on a scary, painful day
- a deep dive into more random hobbies like bedazzling
- me picking up my camera for the first time a while
- hours caring about strangers love lives on @loveislandusa
- a viral duck x goose family 🥹

So July’s gotta top all of that somehow! Here’s to nothing breaking this summer stride!

no one needs a water reminder like this girl!

my summers are always busy, but this one is next level. I’m trying to soak up as much sunshine as possible in between my to-dos & constantly find myself thinking:

“When was the last time I had water today??”

serendipitous timing to team up with @drinkniagarawater when I’m actively trying to up my daily intake. You can get a case of these baddies for less than you’d pay for a coffee…

What about you?

Julia and I were invited to opening night of Water for Elephants at Overture Center for the Arts. The consensus? You NEED to see this show.

I hadn’t seen the movie or read the book so experiencing this story for the first time with such stunning staging, high-energy acrobatics, and an incredibly talented cast was SO cool.

There are 5 opportunities to see Water for Elephants while it’s here in Madison! Tickets are *understandably* going fast and you do NOT want to miss it 🎪🐘

I was so excited when @sullivansaliby also started collabing with @divineconsignsalewi

partially because I’ve loved working with them for years, but also because I was SO excited to see what finds Sullivan would have at the sale

finds that I could later steal out of his closet 🤗

Sullivan has always been one to remind us that clothing has no gender! Our closets should be full of pieces that make us feel confident, comfortable, and happy

and I mean LOOK at that bag!

Faux Spring has been a dooooooozy this year

Winter in Wisconsin is always a toss up but this year Mother Nature has been seriously confused.

Combine that with cold & flu season? We’re all looking for ways to boost our immune systems!

It might have been cold this weekend, but the Fringe Festival at @overturecenter gave lots of warm fuzzies!!

Fringe Festival is about celebrating creative global energy and there was a TON throughout the weekend ✨

and a lot were FREE!

As uncertain as the weather is, you can trust that there’s always something going on at Overture!

Finally somewhat healed from post-vacation blues & reliving every moment by editing daily vlogs!

Day One = Embarkation Day!

(who knew that ‘embarkation’ would become a regular word in my vocabulary??)

The first day was:
- Getting aboard the Scarlet Lady
- finding our cutie lil cabin
- exploring some of the spaces on the ship
- Italian dinner at “Extra Virgin”
- Pajama Night dance party 💃🏼

As someone who was *formerly* terrified of a big boat and open water, this was the day I was most worried about. As you can see though, this day was nothing but good vibes!

I stuck a little motion sickness patch on my thigh and honestly forgot we were on a boat till I saw the view!
