10/10/10-I raced my first marathon in Chicago with good friends, surrounded by family and under the guidance of Steve Jones.

Flash forward thirteen years, life is different, chaotic, and wonderful. Sometime in June I decided to do Chicago, but it did not come without doubt and the inevitable mom guilt. Long clinic days as a nurse practitioner, caring for two precious young boys in between my work days, pick-ups, drop offs, house chores, monthly illnesses, Nate’s work schedule and sports…the list goes on. The mental load of working mom life is complex. The beauty of running is in the simplicity of the sport itself. So here we are at race week and I am thankful to be under the tutelage of Steve Jones, have good friends to share all the sunrise miles with, and for my family near and far who have made this marathon build possible for me. Coming for you Chicago!
