End of the road.

Katanya "the days are long, but the years are short." Beberapa tahun kebelakang ini rasanya seperti singkat sekali, padahal setiap hari menghabiskan 24/7 sudah mengap-mengap kaya ikan. Apalagi gaji yang cuma lewat permisi, serupa kentut orang yang habis makan ubi cilembu di Palagan itu. Bau tapi tak bisa dirasa.

8 Juni 2021 - Awalnya Kami main-main ke indekos petak milik kawan yang sudah lebih dulu berkecimpung dalam Dunia BPO. Iseng-iseng sistem kebut semalam belajar psikotes dan merekap CV seadanya selepas dengar ceritanya itu yang katanya "gajinya lumayan daripada BPO serupa lainnya."

9 Juni 2021 - "Applicant 11", nomor antrian atau nomor ujian psikotes. Lupa. Yang pasti, waktu itu menjadi ajang pembuktian hasil sistem kebut semalaman suntuk belajar Deret Angka. Satu-satunya fokus materi yang jadi momok menakutkan buat lulusan kelas Soshum ini. "Pokoknya harus lolos, kerja, mandiri."

Habis setengah hari dimakan tes, wawancara kerja, uji mengetik cepat, hingga teken kontrak, Kami merayakan usaha kecil itu dengan makan fast food (warteg).

25 Juni 2021 - Sebagai budjang yang baru meniti karir dalam Dunia Professional, Kita pernah "nganu", patungan siapa yang kebagian jatah masak nasi dan sesiapa yang bertanggung jawab tumbas lawuh-nya. Berbagi tugas = menghemat pengeluaran yang belum ada. Saat itu Kami masih dalam masa 'training', belum turun gaji pertama.

20 Juli 2021 - Foto bersama Older Brother (Kaka Tua [atau Kakatua?]) selepas melaksanakan 'Ied al Adha' mandiri, tepat setelah EOS berkumandang. Waktu itu masih berlaku pembatasan kegiatan luar ruang, Pandemi Cov-19 lagi masuk fase gelombang ketiga. Kalau Bayi mah ibaratnya masuk masa 'mpasi, uhuyy.

31 Juli 2021 - Kontainer bukan sembarang Kontainer. Bukan buat jualan ikan, bukan. Dibuat lemari. Iya, lemari baju. Keputusan pembeliannya melalui validasi konselor favorit pada masanya ehee, sekarang beliau menjadi tenaga pengajar Mahasiswa Kampus Besar wilayah DIY. "Keren apa ya Kontainer ikan buat lemari baju. Susun-tumpuk, adjustable banget nic, edgy." Begitulah isi kepalaku lepas gajian.

Oh, iya, pulangnya maen ke Mein Kampf beli Bakso bulat seperti bola pingpong.

You may be wondering why "dosbros"?? here's the deal

Most of the influence took from #Turbo (2013) a film directed by David Soren, about an ordinary garden snail named Theo (voiced by Ryan Reynolds/@ vancityreynolds himself) who dream to be a racer, sort of. The guts of being fast driven by his so-called idol, Guy Gagné, whom happen to be a top tier Indy500 racer.

Besides the racing snails, the film also tells the story of two brothers who run a taco shop in Starlight Plaza, but are facing difficulties in their business. Angelo (the eldest) is upset that Tito (his brother) doesn't help much with their taco business. Instead, he's busy playing snail races with other stall owners in Starlight Plaza. Angelo reminds him that the taco business was started by two brothers (Dos Bros, Spanish), not Uno (alone). Until Tito meets Theo, aka "Turbo," who will change their lives at Starlight Plaza, which has lost its former glory.

The phrase "dos bros" in Spanish is "dos hermanos" which means Two Brothers or Two Siblings. It consists of two basic words, (1) Dos which means two, and (2) Hermanos which means brothers (plural).

Apart from that, other influences also come from the popular business naming trend that was used by most people in my childhood environment, say *UD. Saudara, or Tiga Sekawan for example. (*UD stands for Trading Business). This phrase is commonly used by those involved in joint businesses founded by one family or brotherhood about 3 decades ago.

These two influences, the similarities in background and the hardships faced by the two Taco brothers at Starlight Plaza, are very close to my personal life. Besides the same coincidence, I also have a brother who has recently become involved in the world of #diecast hobby. Therefore, #DosBros it is, DosBros Diecast & Collectables (2016) was born.. and the rest is history.

It all started with a college friend in Yogyakarta (2013) who reintroduced me to @hotwheelsofficial. A long-held interest, buried due to financial constraints, resurfaced. From there, I racked my brains to continue expanding my #diecast collection, specifically by selling them. In short, it worked, and has brought me to this day with over 500++ diecasts parked in my shop.

However, sales have always fluctuated, following trends and the country's declining economic capacity over the years. One or two things forced me to move back to my hometown, Majalengka, West Java.

For a full year (more or less), I spent time reorganizing my online store, joining the local diecast community @majalengkadiecastcommunity to expand my reach, and ultimately having to move again to join a family business in Papua. And so, now I'm expanding to #Merauke, the easternmost city in Indonesia. So, a new chapter of #DosBrosDC's will begin here 🤓

We're not that close, but you are one among the very first mate I have back in the dorm.

Still remember the laughter over silly things we did those days. How I managed to "comblang" him with my past ex of elementary, I also did make him bought me pair of Ray Bean's (don't judge me, it was lit back in the days). But now, you gone. Ain't it too fast or is just the time met(?).
