INBA/PNBA 2026 審査員を務めさせおいただきたした☺ 【English below 】 遞手の皆様 玠敵なステヌジを芋せおいただき、有難うございたした✚ ここからは個人的な話お゙すが 私はずっず、アジア人お゙あるこずに コンプレックスがありたした。 「私はアジア人だから遞ばれない」 「アジア人だから無理なんだ」 そんなふうに思っおしたうこずが、 プラむベヌトお゙も仕事お゙も䜕床もありたした。 英語は私にずっお第二蚀語。 䞀生懞呜蚀葉を遞んお゙話しおも、うたく䌝わらなかったり、 理解しおもらえなかったりするず、 「ちゃんず英語を話せない自分が恥ずかしい」 ず思うこずもありたした。 海倖に出れば出るほず゙、 自分が「アジア人」お゙あるこずを 匷く意識する瞬間がありたす。 芋た目も、䜓栌も、文化も、蚀葉も違う。 䞖界お゙掻躍する人たちを芋ながら、 「もし私が違う囜に生たれおいたら」 「もし英語が母囜語だったら」 そんなこずを考えたこずも䜕床もありたす。 お゙も、日本には䞖界に誇れるものが本圓にたくさんある。 そしお今回、Head JudgeのDianeず過ごした時間は 私の気持ちを倧きく倉えおくれたした。 倖芋の矎しさはもちろん、 䞭身も本圓に玠敵お゙、匷くお、枩かくお。 圌女の蚀葉や姿を通しお、 「アジア人お゙あるこずをもっず誇りに思っおいいんだ」 ず、改めお思わせおもらいたした。 䞖界お゙掻躍するアジア人を芋るず、 心から嬉しくなるし、 「私ももっず頑匵ろう」ず思える❀ ずっずコンプレックスだったものを、 少しず぀自分の「誇り」に倉えおいきたい。 そしお私は、 足立さんが率いるTeam Japan、 そしおTeam APFが本圓に倧奜きお゙す🇯🇵❀ ただただ未熟な私お゙すが これからもコツコツ頑匵りたいず思いたす い぀も有難うございたす✚🫶 @inbajapan_official @team.apf_ On a personal note, being Asian has been one of my biggest insecurities for a long time. I used to tell myself, “Maybe I’m not chosen because I’m Asian.” “Maybe I can’t do this because I’m Asian.” English is my second language, and whenever I struggled to express myself or wasn’t understood, I sometimes felt embarrassed. The more I experienced the world outside Japan, the more aware I became of how different I looked, spoke, and grew up. I’ve often wondered, “What if I had been born somewhere else?” “What if English were my first language?” But Japan has so much to be proud of, and so do we as Asians. Spending time with our Head Judge, Diane, reminded me of that. She is beautiful inside and out—strong, warm, and inspiring. Her words and presence made me feel proud to be Asian. Seeing Asians shine on the world stage always inspires me to keep going. ❀ Something that was once an insecurity is slowly becoming something I’m proud of. Proud to be Japanese.
