Coming out can look different for everyone. It can be joyful, complicated, quiet, or something that unfolds over time. Wherever you are on your journey, you deserve to be met with love, respect, and belonging.

I left my conversation with @aubreychaves today thinking about the distance between feeling love for a community and making sure THAT community can also feel that love.

I first watched Aubrey in action at the @faithmattersfoundation conference this year. She co-hosts the Faith Matters podcast and serves on its executive board, and seeing her there, I understood how much heart she brings to that work. There is a generosity in the way she holds a question, a reverence for the person whose life makes the answer matter.

Today, sitting together at the Encircle home, I felt that same care in motion during a conversation about faith, belonging, and how we can better serve our community. I loved being able to go deep with someone whose curiosity makes honesty feel welcome.

I’m grateful for the way Aubrey makes room for people to bring their faith and their questions, their love for their families and their hopes for a more compassionate world. Our conversation left me thinking about the homes we want to build for one another: places where a parent can keep reaching for their child, where someone can speak a difficult truth and still feel held, where love becomes both an observable behavior and a foundation where families can build their lives upon.

Aubrey, thank you for bringing your heart into our home today. I left with a fuller heart of my own. ❤️

🏳️‍🌈 LGBTQ+ History Month is a time to remember, celebrate, and carry hope forward.

We honor the generations of LGBTQ+ people whose courage, creativity, and persistence have helped create a world with more visibility, acceptance, and belonging. So much has changed and every step forward is worth celebrating.

And there is still work to do. Too many LGBTQ+ young people are navigating loneliness, rejection, and uncertainty about where they belong. Our history reminds us that meaningful change happens when we show up for one another and keep creating spaces where people can feel safe, seen, and loved.

At Encircle, we’re proud to be part of that work. Every hug, conversation, meal, art night, and moment of connection helps remind LGBTQ+ youth and families: you are not alone, you belong, and there is a place for you here.

This month, we celebrate how far we’ve come, honor those who helped light the way, and look toward a future filled with even more connection, belonging, and hope. 💛

Meet our Trans Therapy Group facilitators, Bekah and Paige, and get answers to some FAQs about the group. If you identify as trans, gender non-conforming, agender, gender fluid or non-binary, this group is for you.
