So, how are things going with Moyo Gems? We’re so glad you asked. 💖

There’s been a lot of inspiring progress, and we want you to hear about it from the people who know it best.

Meet Norbert Massey and Esther Njunge, our in-country partners with PACT in Tanzania and Kenya. They work directly alongside miners participating in the Moyo program, bringing us updates straight from the communities at the heart of Moyo.

They’ll be joining us live (virtually) in Brooklyn this Friday at noon during the Ethical Gem Fair for a conversation about the program and its progress.

Can’t make it to Brooklyn? You can also hear from ANZA founder @idazzle at the Responsible Jewelry Conference in Chicago on Friday, October 23.

And if you can’t join us at either event, don’t worry. We’ll be sharing more updates here soon!

We’re excited to share these updates straight from the people who are there, working alongside miners and seeing the progress firsthand. 💖

Working for Moyo Gems is truly a gift. Supporting miners and seeing lives change through this work has always felt like more than a job to me—it’s something I’m genuinely passionate about.

This week, we’re not just hosting another Mine-to-Market. Yes, it’s about creating market opportunities for miners to sell their gemstones, but it’s also about creating opportunities to learn.

A key highlight is hosting gemology students that joined us at the market, meet miners and buyers, make new connections, and experience the gemstone trade in a real market setting. You can learn so much in a classroom, but there’s something special about being on the ground and seeing it all come together.

These are the moments that remind me why I love what I do. by @endeki

This week, @pactworld @moyogems and @aweik_ke celebrated International Day of Women in Mining in Taita Taveta, recognizing the remarkable contributions of women who work diligently every day across the gemstone value chain.

Through our programs, we continue to support capacity building, responsible mining practices, and livelihood improvement initiatives that benefit local communities and strengthen the gemstone sector.

I am grateful to be part of a team that is empowering women miners, creating opportunities, and supporting positive change in the communities we serve.
