What if a brand’s heritage wasn’t just part of its story, but part of the space itself?

At LANG, a new boutique at @rowdtla in Los Angeles, Studio Paul Chan brings the brand’s cultural ties to life through the physical environment.

One detail in particular makes that connection impossible to miss.

Suspended above a curved bench is a four-tier installation of paper lanterns painted with Cantonese sayings. Rather than treating heritage as something to explain through signage or graphics, the installation gives it a physical presence within the store.

It becomes part of what shoppers see, move beneath and experience as they navigate the space.

Throughout LANG, references to Hong Kong and Los Angeles continue that conversation, showing how cultural identity can become a design language of its own.

For retailers, it’s an interesting lesson in storytelling. Sometimes the details that say the most about a brand aren’t the ones with its name on them. They’re the ones that show you where it comes from.

Be intentional, provide adaptability, and align with the quality that Serengeti is synonymous with – These are the three objectives we outlined when Serengeti tasked endetail with leading the development of their retail strategy.

The result is a suite of retail tools that gives the brand more ways to show up while keeping its identity clear & consistent and its product the main focus.

From the single-product glorifier and mirror to the dispensing tray and brand reminders, each piece is designed to work together or stand on its own. That means different accounts and retail environments can create the setup that works for their space using the same cohesive toolkit.

We built adaptability into everything… from the graphics to the wall display.

Interchangeable messaging can easily shift for new campaigns, seasonal updates or account-specific needs, while the fixtures maintain the same recognizable Serengeti look.

More flexibility. More ways to merchandise. One consistent point of view.

We’re proud to have helped bring every detail into focus. See more of our work at endetail.com.

Who says you need four walls to define a space?

Nectar Oum in San Pedro Garza García, Mexico, takes on an interesting design challenge: giving a restaurant its own identity within the open environment of a shopping center food court.

Instead of closing it off, the design creates boundaries in subtler ways.

The layout starts from a central point, while curved seating, partitions at varying heights and sliding curtains help create distinct zones. Strategically placed mirrors reflect surrounding greenery back into the restaurant, visually extending the space beyond its footprint.

Turns out, four walls are only one way to define a space. Here, every curve, material and sightline helps draw the boundaries.

Four buildings. One continuous idea.

@descente_kr’s Global Flagship in Beijing takes an unusual retail footprint and turns it into one connected experience.

Designed by STILL YOUNG, the store brings four separate buildings together through a sweeping façade with no clear beginning or end. A sense of continuous movement carries through the interiors and circulation, guiding shoppers from one space to the next.

Each area has its own purpose, but together they tell a larger story of movement, progression and the DESCENTE brand.

Take a closer look at how DESCENTE connects four buildings into one retail experience at e-architect.com.

In a world built to predict what shoppers want, there’s still something powerful about a store that lets them discover it for themselves.

As AI changes how consumers find products and brands online, some retailers are putting fresh energy into something decidedly more human: real-world connection.

According to @modernretailco, fashion and beauty brands are turning to physical stores, events and face-to-face interactions. When an algorithm can introduce shoppers to a product before they ever leave the couch, the store can offer the parts of discovery that are harder to replicate on a screen.

The more digital shopping gets, the more valuable real life might become.

Follow along for more insights on the shifts shaping retail.

Rodd & Gunn is serving looks. And dinner.

Inside the brand’s global flagship on Melbourne’s Little Collins Street, fashion and hospitality share the same address.

The historic Art Deco building brings together an iconic retail store, wine cellar, bar and restaurant, turning a shopping trip into something that can just as easily become drinks or dinner.

Designed by Studio Y, the space balances its original character with a new purpose, restoring heritage details like marble, decorative columns and arched windows while giving each part of the experience its own distinct feel. Take the full tour → https://www.indesignlive.com.

At a restaurant designed for just 20 guests, the newly reimagined Tate in Hong Kong, Chef Vicky Lau and designer Chris Shao approached the restaurant as an entire ecosystem.

The two-story, 5,500-square-foot space welcomes just 20 guests, with more than 60% of its footprint dedicated to the kitchen, wine cellar, staff areas and other behind-the-scenes functions.

Inspired by the shapes and craftsmanship of fine china, the interiors incorporate curved furniture, ceramic lighting, patterned flooring, and understated finishes.

Custom tableside service pieces can roll into place when needed, while chairs include discreet drawers where guests can tuck away their phones.

In a space where intimacy is built into the floor plan, every square inch has a job to do.

Charleston charm, the Tommy Bahama way.

At @tbahama on King Street, unique architectural elements give the space a character all its own, from the exposed brick and standout ceiling feature to the fixtures that bring it all together.

We worked closely with Tommy Bahama to develop and produce custom retail fixtures, including the cash wrap area.

The fixture program and ceiling grid were crafted to honor the culture and charm of Charleston. Fixtures were intentionally designed to expose the warm brick that’s a Southern staple in The Holy City.

A little Charleston character, a little island state of mind.

FashionBar’s The Shops is bringing a rotating twist to physical retail, and it’s all happening in our home town.

Inside Chicago’s @shopwatertowerplace, @fashionbarchicago is putting a rotating spin on physical retail.

Instead of one store with one permanent lineup, this concept store brings a curated mix of emerging fashion, beauty and wellness brands into the space for limited-time pop-ups.

For brands, a pop-up can be a way to test the waters, build awareness and create real-world connections without the commitment of a permanent storefront. For shopping centers, a rotating lineup can keep spaces feeling fresh and bring in a new audience.

Same space, always something new in store. See what’s next at FashionBarChicago.com.
