For the first in our new Studio Visits series, we spent a morning with Eve Gnoyke in her studio, surrounded by clay, works in progress and stacks of finished pots. Eve’s route into ceramics wasn’t a straightforward one. Initially self-taught, she went on to study design in Glasgow, which led her towards a largely laptop based creative practice. Missing the physicality of making with her hands, Eve found her way back to pottery at her kitchen table during the pandemic. What began as a return to something instinctive eventually led to a place at Clay College. It was here that she learnt mould-making, kiln-building, new techniques and tools that opened up a whole new world of possibilities — “my world just expanded exponentially.” Thank you, @evegnoyke , for giving us a glimpse into your day-to-day life in the studio. Studio Visits is a new series from @endlesslovecreative and @natalierosewilde, stepping inside the working spaces of makers and artists to document the people, places and processes behind what they make.
