How much do teens and young adults really know about periods and menstrual health?

Join The Endometriosis Network Canada for a free one-hour virtual learning session exploring what many teens and young adults still don’t know about periods and why those gaps in knowledge matter.

Together with our guest speaker, we’ll unpack why period literacy remains an important part of youth health education and how better menstrual health knowledge can help young people understand their experiences, recognize concerning symptoms, and seek support for conditions like endometriosis.

Designed for educators and others who work with teens and college- or university-aged youth, this session will explore why comprehensive period education continues to matter beyond simply teaching the basics.

Join our Executive Director, Katie, as we talk about common myths surrounding pelvic pain and endometriosis.

The myth that severe period pain is normal can have a long lasting impact on someone’s mental health and ability to access care.

Misinformation and myths can make people question their experiences and make people feel alone, especially when they come from people we turn to for help.

You are not alone.

Let’s put an end to these myths together, because severe period pain that impacts your quality of life is NOT normal, and you deserve to be taken seriously.

Follow @ScienceUpFirst to join #TogetherAgainstMisinformation and learn how to make informed, science-based decisions for a healthier life. by @endonetwork_canada

At this stage, we are asking interested caregivers and allies to sign up to receive the survey when it becomes available. The sign-up is a quick, simple process, and only asks for your name and email address. Using the link below, you can secure your survey and sign up now!

September 30th is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day – Every Child Matters, and we cannot talk about reproductive justice and endometriosis care without talking about Canada’s colonial history.

As we reflect on Canada’s history of racism, colonialism, and residential schools, we understand that the current state of Indigenous health in Canada is a result of previous Canadian government policies, including the Residential School System.

On this day, we remember and honour the lives of Indigenous children who endured abuse and who lost their lives in the Residential School System.

We honour and support the Indigenous Peoples and Communities who face generational trauma and harm stemming from residential schools.

To move forward in reconciliation and respect, we advocate for culturally-rooted healing and care, menstrual justice, and reproductive sovereignty that recognizes the health rights of Indigenous Peoples.

Indigenous history is ongoing – and so is the work.

If you know an Indigenous-led organization, educator, or healer doing powerful work in reproductive or menstrual health, share their name or tag them in the comments. Let’s advocate and amplify together, in the spirit of reconciliation and respect!

Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada: Calls to Action (2015)
Government of Canada: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (2026)
United Nations: Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (2007)

For many years, the Friedrichsen Cooper Family has stood alongside The Endometriosis Network Canada and the endometriosis community, sharing our commitment to improving the lives and care of people affected by endometriosis in Canada.

Their ongoing generosity and trust in our mission have helped our organization grow and deepen our connection with the endometriosis community across the country. Their longstanding support helps us provide trusted information and resources, create opportunities for connection and peer support, raise awareness, and advocate for better experiences and care for people affected by endometriosis.

At the heart of this work are people looking for answers, understanding, connection, and support. Having longstanding supporters who believe deeply in our mission allows us to continue responding to those needs while working toward meaningful and lasting change for the endometriosis community.

We are deeply grateful to the Friedrichsen Cooper Family for their generosity. Thank you for your continued belief in our work, your dedication to our mission, and your longstanding commitment to a better future for people affected by endometriosis.

Help improve endometriosis care worldwide by taking part in a survey by World Endometriosis Organisations.

This survey asks about experiences of endometriosis, including diagnosis, treatment, access to care, what matters most to you, and how endometriosis may affect daily life. The purpose of the survey is to better understand people’s experiences, values, preferences, and priorities so that future care, policy, and guidance can better reflect what matters to those affected.

The main section of the survey should take around 10 to 15 minutes. If you choose to continue with the extra sections, the survey may take longer depending on how many you answer.

This project represents an important opportunity to amplify the voices of people affected by endometriosis around the world.

As back to school season is upon us, we’re thrilled to share Allison Nichol Longtin’s article on menstrual health education featured in the YEG PARENTS Magazine — Back to School Issue.

Allison shared more about The Endo Network’s What you need to know. Period. program. This free, bilingual menstrual health program was designed for Canadian youth. It covers periods and period-related health issues, like endometriosis, and was developed to help individuals and organizations working with youth have important conversations.
