I really did dread the day I’d make this post
Coming to terms that you’re no longer here
This is my first Mother’s Day without you
And to make a long story short
I’m in shambles
Stuck between acceptance and why you had to leave
As tears fill my eyes and my throat begins to hurt while I type
I wanted to say I love you and thank you for being the best mom
For you I know what unconditional love is
For you I know what sacrifice is
You always chose me even when I didn’t choose myself
You always loved me no matter what
U would turn your life upside down to ensure mine was right side up
U would give me your last even when I already had
You were my biggest cheerleader
My biggest supporter
My teacher
My lawyer
My doctor
My cook
My nurse
My friend
But most importantly my mother
U provided a security some may only dream of
I was your little baby no matter what
You were my shield and my guide
U we’re always there when I needed you when I wanted you or even when I didn’t
You showed up
You loved me loudly
I doubt I’ll ever find a love like that in this world again
But for that I’m grateful I got to experience you
I’m glad you were MY MOMMY
I’m glad God thought I was worthy enough to have you as my mom
I will cherish every moment that I’ve spent with you
And will allow you to still live through me
U will live on through me
Through your love
Through your teachings
I can’t sum up how much I love you because I’ll end up writing until my hands fall off
You are the true definition of a true mother
And I am happy you are mine
Happy heavenly Mother’s Day my sweet lovely mommy
You’re the absolute best
