This may come as a surprise to some of you & I really didn’t want to post about it. The truth is when I dug deep last week and spent some time reflecting on why starting over is bothering me, I believe it is because I feel I don’t know how to lead any longer or maybe ever. 😳🥺

I’ve held a lot of leadership positions over my life, and I don’t know if I did any of them well. The thought of starting over means I have to face the fact that I’m not sure I ever really knew how to lead.

I’ve read books, listened to podcasts and attended seminars. I’ve even hired a coach before. I don’t know why & I’m not sure how to proceed.

There. I said it. Don’t really feel good-I feel exposed. Almost “imposter-like.” I’m finding journaling my thoughts here feels rather vulnerable but if it helps 1 person, it’s worth it.

“I feel like I’m starting over.”
Is something I continue to say after taking an understandable, yet unexpected, step back from my health & wellness business & most recently-my fitness.

I’m 50-something and to feel like most areas of my life are in “restart” mode can be mentally exhausting. If I’m honest, it pisses me off & frustrates me. ( I know—not spiritual🥺-just raw) Things that I was previously pretty dang good at are now ‘looking’ back at me & wondering if I will ever catch up.

Truth is I’m not sure. I know if I do, it will look different in the next season. by @energeticearly

This is for the woman that has abandoned dreams because you just don’t have the mental capacity or energy for it. I see you.

“Life is lifing.”
“I’ll get back to it one day.”

Sometimes we have to give ourselves grace & other times a gentle nudge & then other times—a swift kick in the pants.😅

I’m emerging from a ‘LOT of grace’ stage and entering the ‘gentle nudge.’

I’ve learned these two years to not take moments or daily routines for granted. Life can change so quickly.

I’ve learned to slow down and look for ‘the good’ more.
I’ve learned to be more intentional with time and interactions.

Most importantly, I’ve learned to protect my peace & my children’s peace (if within my ability.)

I’ve learned to love again and dream again. ❤️

I’ve learned that if the Lord placed something or someone on your heart or in your life—there’s a reason!

I am grateful for my flexible business and customers that have continued. There is no other career I could do well with all of the life altering changes over the last 2 years.

So incredibly grateful as I emerge. I feel like a caterpillar 🐛 beginning to emerge from a cocoon. 🦋

Y’all, what is going on with these football uniforms?! Basically bike shorts and ankle socks. I can’t even. I half expect them to ride a bicycle into the stadium.

I read this yesterday and it really spoke to me in a deep way.

There are so many hurting today. Some in silence and others publicly.

God has not left you even though He feels very far away or silent right now. He’s there-shut out the distractions and lean in. He will reveal himself to you. It may be in a small way or a big way.

This was next level fishing in Alaska!🎣 Fishing for sockeye salmon is unlike any fishing I’ve ever experienced.

🎣 1st time wearing “waders”
🎣 1st time not using any bait.
🎣 1st time standing in the middle of a cold river while fishing.

We were 1️⃣ fish shy of our bag limit for the two of us (12). Yes, we brought them home and the salmon tastes incredible!

We fished with Brandon from @kenaimethods and had the best time! On our way back to the dock, several bald eagles 🦅 were just hanging out on the shore.

Afterwards we drove a couple hours to Homer, AK & made the best of a rainy and very chilly day. Keith enjoyed his Alaskan king crab 🦀
