This year I had a blast working @essencefest in the #Disney glam room alongside @derekjhair and @tamelalemieux (and the crazzzzyyyyy talented make up department). Black excellence permeated the air and it was a beautiful time! I’ve been silently making changes and adjusting to new normals in my industry and one thing I learned this past weekend is to bet on ME. Every influencer, actor, singer, executive and vendor that I spoke to or listened to had a similar message. You’ll all be seeing more of me as I force myself to be more present… because our gifts are not for us to keep to ourselves. by @energyguy

Well, well, well… ANOTHER trip around the sun for me! This birthday I’m just reflecting on how tremendously blessed I am. I haven’t been home in Detroit for my birthday in a few years so I’m grateful to plant my feet on the soil that molded me into who I am. It means the world to me that my hometown is proud of me. I will continue to strive for greatness and show the world what a black man from the hood of the the “D” is capable of! A couple weeks ago I threw caution to the wind and took myself on an impromptu trip to LA to see Kanye at SoFi. It was nothing short of amazing!!!! I’m a little late to the posting party but I’ve been just taking it all in! We wrapped season 1 on A Different World this week! What an amazing legacy to be a part of! I must say, we ate it up! Thanks to my Department Head @derekjhair for always choosing me to stand beside you on these beautiful journeys… today I’m thankful for the rooms GOD removed me from so he could put me in spaces like this.
