How nice it was to sit and practice talking with Jessica after knowing her not well for years through her incredible music in Energy Slime and as a guest at comedy shows where I work the box office. Jessica showed me some great places in the neighbourhood to stop and smell the flowers after our chat— a chat that I hope was only the first of a long chain of chats.

Thanks you Jessica for taking the time to speak with me, and for recommending the music of Beethoven that day. Apologies we had to share the bench with the gentleman and his dog for so much of our filming. Thanks to you the viewer for watching.

Lesbian visibility! We hit 60% of our gofundme goal this month but the transition costs continue to pile up! @jayarner and I are celebrating her official name and gender marker changes this week! If you are able to donate the gofundme link is in my bio.

Also if you are feeling overwhelmed by all your stuff you can hire me to help organize your space! I love helping to add more ease and comfort to my clients’ lives. Most of my clients are neurodivergent (as am I) which often means there’s difficulty in scheduling and frequent rescheduling, and as a result my income is very sporadic. I know that’s not a great business model, but when I am actually able to work I find it incredibly rewarding for everyone involved! I understand procrastinating well. Life is short. Let’s tackle the scary tasks together!

On top of all this I’ve been also dealing with some not great family health news so life has been extra challenging this month. But I’m being visible, standing on this rock and asking for support instead of hiding underneath it. 🪨

⭐️ JAY FEST ⭐️ October 18th at Green Auto! Featuring: Devours, Buddie, Big Rig, Yawn, Dylan Baldi from Cloud Nothings, xSTARLINGx on the decks, and raffle prizes from local artists! With everything going on in this bonkers world, what better way to spend an evening than supporting an important trans woman in our community. Jay has been instrumental in the albums of many, many bands in the Vancouver music scene and beyond. All proceeds from this event will go to Jay’s gofundme for her Facial Feminization (FFS) surgery taking place in November. To know her is to love her, so let’s help her become her true self!
