we visited 4p’s (we had to 😭)

🍕 homemade 4 cheese pizza — 4.9/5
4 cheese with honey???? my first, definitely will not be my last. insane combo.

🍕 burrata parma ham pizza — 4.5/5
interestingly nice combination, definitely worth the try! but personally, i liked the 4 cheese more.

🍕 salmon miso cream pizza — 4.5/5
generous amount of salmon and not fishy at all. couldn’t really taste much of the miso though, but overall still gooood.

🦑 squid tomato paste — 3.2/5
tasted alright… nothing too fancy.

🦀 crab tomato cream spaghetti — 3.5/5
honestly tasted a little fishy to me, so i didn’t really like it 😭 but my friend liked it sooooo 🤷‍♂️

🖤 squid ink risotto — 4.3/5
honestly, really well cooked. rich flavours, great texture, and all of us liked it.

🍄 truffle burrata ham with parma ham — 4.1/5
great crust, moderate amount of truffle, and amazing cheese.

⭐ overall: 4.14/5 (pizza only - 4.75/5)
💸 damage: honestly not expensive, can’t remember the price heh

we visited dudu 粤菜 👀

salted egg chicken wing w/ corn - $14.90 - 4/5
fried chicken with salted egg that packed a punch, with the flavours pretty well balanced!

hand chopped pork pie 干蒸排骨 - $14.90 - 3/5
one of the signature dishes in guangzhou! unfortunately, i’ve had the authentic one before, and this doesn’t quite compare 😅

crispy orh luak - $19.80 - 3.99/5
basically a simple pan-fried egg with seafood i believe. it’s definitely unique, and the seafood was fresh, but nothing too mind-blowing… BUT add the chilli and it’s pretty solid 🔥

golden nest - $18.80 - 4.1/5
who doesn’t love a FRIED egg honestly, this egg with the sweet and slightly sour sauce was not just interesting, but actually tasted damn good! especially for those who love an oozy egg yolk 🤤

cauliflower - 4/5
solid vegetable. nothing much to say

⭐ overall: 3.8/5
💸 damage: $82

we visited the viral DADDY CUISINE

tandoori chicken kebab w/ briyani rice $11 – 4.6/5
tandoori chicken was well seasoned, came along with HUGE portions of chicken, tomatoes, onions (they were great), tomato relish (?) and some white sauce that came together surprisingly well

cheesy naan w/ add on hummus $8 + $3 – 4.7/5
cheesy naan was simple, tastes great. the amount of hummus that the boss gave…. he’s really generous, frankly speaking one of the best hummus i have had in singapore

protip - add the tandoori chicken, tomatoes, onions, and the sauces ONTO the cheese naan and eat it like a kebab, best DIY kebab

⭐ overall: 4.65/5

we ordered two dishes:

salted egg chicken rice w/ fried egg $8.50 – 3.1/5
sadly they did not fully bring out the salted egg flavours for the dish… it tasted really flat, would have loved it if they added more flavours from both chilli padis and curry leaves, nevertheless the rice was pretty good, fried egg wasn’t overcooked.

sambal haebi chicken rice w/ fried egg $8.5 – 2.9/5
the previous dish was flat, this is even flatter. to be frank i think the chicken can be marinated before cooking, you can taste the haebi flavours on the outside of the chicken but when you really bite into it, it tasted just like a broiled chicken…. well egg and rice was good though

our salted egg chicken craving was NOT satisfied and had to go to the OG 3 meals a day for another round…. that i have to rate it a 4/5.

visited this place after seeing it all over tiktok, so i had to see if it lived up to the hype.

we ordered three dishes:

pad see ew (seafood) $7 – 3/5
the noodles could’ve used a bit more wok hei, but it was still a decent plate despite the fact that the flavours was alittle flat. the seafood was fresh and was generous with the seafood.

fried pork collar with rice $5 – 3.3/5
the pork was well-seasoned overall, but a few pieces were on the dry side. i also wished the garlic flavour came through a little more. AND MORE GARLIC CRUMBS.

stir-fried kailan with pork belly $10 – 4/5
you really can’t go wrong with this combination. the pork belly added plenty of flavour to the vegetables, making it the standout dish of the meal.

oh the thai milk tea was great too! not too sweet, flavours were there!

⭐ overall: 3.3/5

stumbled upon this izakaya in Kyoto and it ended up being one of the highlights of my trip. the prices were surprisingly affordable for the quality, and almost every dish left an impression.

the Hiyori special potato salad (500 Yen) was unlike any i’ve had before, packed with crispy bits that added an addictive texture to every bite. if you are a fan of sake, their selection of sake was equally impressive.

A few standouts from the meal:
🍗 fried chicken 600 Yen — perfectly seasoned, juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside, amazing with a pint of beer
🥩 genghis khan (lamb) 800 Yen — flavourful with very little gaminess, making it approachable even for those who aren’t usually lamb fans

the menu rotates regularly, offering a wide variety of dishes and unique specials, making it ideal for indecisive eaters who want to try a bit of everything. oh not to forget that the onigiri tasted great too!

the wait can be long at times, every dish is prepared with care, and despite being busy, the owner still takes the time to interact with guests. as a traveller, it was also a huge plus that he spoke fluent English

definitely will revisit!

⭐ 4.7/5
