It would have been my Dad’s 75th birthday last Thursday. It’s why it felt so important to release Money.

Dad was beyond a music fan he was a quiet fanatic. Metal or bluegrass, reggae or trad, he hated nothing and loved everything. There was no one he hadn’t seen; from Van Morrison to This Mortail Coil, The Police to Jackson Browne.

Dad made up most of our Spotify plays. If he shouted ‘Hey, Alexa, play some music’ it always ended up with Enjoy Less. At least once a week he’d ask ‘how’s the music going? When are you releasing the new ones?’ Or he’d remind me that he loved the latest songs.

He was the best roadie, a top driver, five star artist catering and our biggest fan. If you ever played music with me he was your biggest fan.

I promised myself and him that I would keep sharing the music we make. I’m not going to ask you to listen to the song but I will ask you something:

If you’re a parent, let your children sing. If you have parents, and you can, tell them you love them. If you’re a creative, create – you never know how much it will mean to someone else.

Thanks for all the support Dad. by @enjoy.less

Since its release just over a month ago The Future Ain’t Ours as reached one thousand plays on Spotify. While it may not seem like a lot to some, it means a lot to us.

So if you’ve listened to it, loved it, forgot about it, thought it was distinctly average, thank you. It means more than you know.

We’ve got more coming your way. by @enjoy.less

We had a ball making The Future Ain’t Ours – spending hours painstakingly trying to work out what the chords really were.

What are chords really though? Do you truly need to know what they are? Do they even exist? We still don’t know.

If you’ve listened to the single already, thank you. We hope you love it as much as we loved making it. Listen to it, save it, share it with a loved one and play it as you and your best friend as you drive into the sunset on a lovely weekend away.

We’ve got more coming for you.

Thanks to @timmalkin at @thegreenestroominleeds for doing his best to work out what the chords were. by @enjoy.less

The Future Ain’t Ours is out now in the digital universe. Go get it at your chosen streaming platform.

We loved making this song. It took some time to get right, to slide all of the pieces into place. But it’s here. Save it. Share it. Enjoy it.
