I cannot deny the fact that God has blessed me with a gift, a gift I cherish deeply, of love, community, dance, joy and bringing people together

🤗 I had the privilege of sharing that gift with nearly 100 Women from hodyyc Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) House of David, Calgary 🇨🇦 as we celebrated Women’s Day. We praised, danced, laughed, it was fellowship in the presence of God 🤍

Created this Basic-Intermediate piece for @afrobattles Battle Prep Class with @themetamorphosiscrew 🔥

My session focused on three key elements: Intro, Outro, and Building Vocabulary.

We explored how to truly attack the floor when it’s your turn to dance by making intentional choices that command attention, creating powerful openings that immediately establish your presence, crafting memorable endings that leave a lasting statement, and developing movement vocabulary that allows you to stay creative, adaptable, and authentic in the moment.

One of the biggest conversations was around reducing repetition, learning how to stay present, respond to the music, react to your environment, and trust the work you’ve put in. “The goal isn’t just to win battles, it’s to become a more complete, intentional, and versatile dancer every time you step into the circle.”

Battles are conversations, and the goal is to keep that conversation alive every time you step into the circle.
