🌎🇧🇷 KIDS ASK THE DARNED QUESTIONS

“Mom, who was the KKK?”

A young girl in Brazil asks her mother about America’s history of white supremacy.

The KKK used terrorism and violence to prevent Black Americans from gaining freedom, wealth, and political power, often with the complicity of authorities.

But Black Americans fought back, helping transform American democracy.

Different countries. Different languages. Black American history told through the curiosity of children.

Your body already knows how to do this. You just forgot.

@professor.moses on why he took the name Moses means liberation and why his whole mission is teaching people to be free through music. Somewhere along the way we got scared to move our bodies. We've been dancing around the fire for thousands of years. He's just bringing it back.

🌍 KIDS ASK THE DARNED QUESTIONS

What happens when children around the world begin asking honest questions about race, slavery, power, freedom and America?

And what happens when the adults answering them are willing to tell the truth?

Kids Ask the Darned Questions is a series that looks at America’s racial history and social structure through a global lens — imagining conversations between children and parents outside the United States who aren’t carrying the exact same cultural narratives Americans have inherited.

Because anti-Black ideas didn’t appear out of nowhere.

They were created, repeated, taught and normalized over generations to justify slavery, segregation, exploitation and unequal treatment.

And some of those ideas survived long after the laws changed.

Sometimes understanding racism requires stepping outside of the American conversation entirely and asking a much simpler question:

What would this history look like to someone observing it from the outside?

These videos are about curiosity.

History.

Context.

And teaching children to question the stories they inherit instead of automatically accepting them.

This episode takes us to 1990s Japan, where a daughter asks her mother a question many adults still struggle to answer:

Why did America enslave Black people?

More countries.
More families.
More questions coming.

Most people are asking for more while their vessel is leaking.

More money.
More love.
More influence.
More opportunity.

But life rarely gives us what we want. It gives us what we can hold.

An insecurity becomes a leak.

An unhealed wound becomes a crack.

An unconscious pattern becomes a limit.

The reason people lose blessings is often the same reason they struggled before receiving them.

The lesson was never about getting more.

It was about becoming more.

Can you receive success without arrogance?

Can you receive criticism without collapse?

Can you receive uncertainty without creating chaos?

Your capacity is revealed by what happens after the blessing arrives.

A strong vessel does not make life easier.

It makes you capable of carrying greater light without breaking under its weight.

The quality of your life is rarely determined by what enters it.

It is determined by what your nervous system, character, and consciousness can sustain. by @enricomoses

8 years of @libfestival
8 years of reflection.

Every year this festival becomes a checkpoint for me… life, family, health, creativity, spirituality, purpose.

This year was especially meaningful because we were part of the Family Love Village. Watching kids, parents, artists, dreamers, builders, and entrepreneurs all together in one space felt magical. You could literally feel the future being born in real time.

Last year at LIB, I had a vision:
What if we created a regenerative pathway where the youth could learn how to become the very artists they look up to on these stages?

Not just spectators… but future creators.
Future DJs.
Future builders.
Future leaders.

Being able to help bring that vision into reality this year was deeply emotional for me. Huge gratitude to the entire FLV team, every volunteer and staff member, and the whole @thedolab team for believing in this vision and creating space for it to exist. ❤️

I also led my second Zen Circle at LIB. Once again, I was reminded how powerful it is when humans slow down long enough to truly see each other. Different backgrounds, different stories, different lives… yet somehow we realize how connected we all really are.

But honestly… my favorite part of the whole festival was having my family there with me. Watching my daughter fall in love with LIB the same way I did was something I’ll never forget. After we left, she got emotional because she “misses it so much.”

And truthfully… I understood exactly what she meant.

Leaving LIB always feels like re-entering another dimension. But I think that’s what makes it so special. The magic exists because it’s temporary.
